Dr. Rita provides patients with a choice of adjustment styles depending on individualized needs. Treatments include relaxation with a soothing heat pack, massage, and a relaxing environment. Specialties include treatment for auto accidents, sports injuries, chronic pain, nutritional support, stress reduction, and injury prevention. Dr. Rita's hobbies include Middle Eastern Dance, gardening, and long walks on the beach with her Dog Gracie.

Ways to Improve your Attitude

According to Bruce St. John, Leadership Coach

Work on relationships: They’re our best source of happiness and also our biggest source of problems and frustrations. Develop good relationships and improve or end poor ones.

Develop routine activities: an early morning walk, exercise, meditation, and quite time, are an effective way to get the day off with a positive start. It is easy to stay positive by starting positive.

Manage your negative self-talk. This is a source of low moods – be alert to negative messages. Try to think of that negative voice in your head as an annoying roommate and tune it out. Focus on getting a truthful message, then shifting out of self-defeating criticism. We are usually our own worst critic. Refrain from making judgments, instead think positively.

Attract what you need. Time and energy are best spent pursuing desirable goals. Ask others for what you need. Make a list of goals at the beginning of your week.

Be a positive energy source. Negative energy attracts negative results. Keep your own mood positive and suppress (or ignore) the negative behavior of those around you. Pay it forward: for every kind deed offered to you, do a kind deed for someone else.

Ease up on the internal life commentary. If you want to be happy, stop telling yourself that you’re miserable.

As your chiropractor, I am honored to play a part in your health and well-being. Whether you are a new mother adjusting to the demands of motherhood or a seasoned mom juggling multiple responsibilities, I am here to support you and help you feel your best.

Many of us sacrifice a couple of hours of sleep a night because there doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done. But there are some important reasons to make sleep a priority.

Some of the top Benefits of a good night’s sleep according to Mark Stibich, PhD:

A healthy heart. Lack of sleep has been associated with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Your heart will be healthier
If you sleep 7-9 hours per night.

Sleep improves memory. While you sleep your brain processes your day, connecting events, sensory input, feelings, and memories. Dreams and deep sleep are important for your brain to form memories and links.

Naps make you smarter. Napping several times a week lowers the risk for heart disease, improves memory, improves cognitive function, improves mood, and helps make you more productive.

Reduces depression. Lack of sleep decreases serotonin production which can lead to depression.

Weight Loss. People who sleep less than 7 hours a night are more likely to be overweight. Hormones called ghrelin and leptin regulate appetite and are disrupted by lack of sleep.
