If you have hemophilia A (also called classic hemophilia), you are missing or have a deficiency (lower level) of clotting factor VIII (FVIII).

The treatments are usually factor replacement therapy, which is administered by infusing (giving medication into a vein), or bispecific antibody therapy, which is administered subcutaneously (a shot right under the skin).

If you have hemophilia A, you likely experience longer bleeding times-internally or externally-compared to someone without the condition. Common bleeding sites are the joints and muscles. Even if you have mild hemophilia A, you might not be diagnosed until later in life, often after an injury or surgery.
