🌟 Honoring the Life and Legacy of President Jimmy Carter 🌟
President Jimmy Carter devoted his extraordinary life to service above self. From his distinguished Naval career to his leadership as Governor of Georgia and later as the 39th President of the United States, he exemplified a deep commitment to making the world a better place.
After his presidency, through the Carter Center, President Carter and Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter championed global efforts to promote peace and improve health, leaving an enduring impact on countless lives worldwide.
In February 2023, President Carter courageously shared his decision to enter hospice care, offering the nation a profound lesson in grace and dignity. Surrounded by the love of his family, he received hospice care at home, demonstrating how this compassionate service helps patients live meaningful, full lives during their final chapter.
Even in his passing, President Carter’s leadership shines. His administration’s early support of the hospice movement in the 1970s played a pivotal role in the creation of the Medicare Hospice Benefit, shaping the care millions rely on today.
As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his incredible legacy. Thank you, President Carter, for showing us how to live—and to leave—with purpose and courage. 🕯️
Carter had been in hospice care since February 2023 at his home in Plains, Georgia, where he lived with his wife of 77 years, Rosalynn Carter.
