Toni (she/her) believes therapy can be an opportunity to explore all dimensions of the self with non-judgment and curiosity. A way to redefine or discover what it means to be in a healthy relationship with ourselves and others. With a relational, warm, and non-pathologizing approach that upholds self-determination- Toni utilizes creativity and humor, honoring the traumas that we carry in this life. She is 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming and is always interested in critically evaluating how systems around us impact our well-being through an intersectional lens. (Toni Loera, LCSW #119665)

Fia (they/them) is a q***r therapist who is passionate about working with individuals who have taken the courageous step to pursue self-growth. Everyone deserves a non-judgmental space to explore who they are and how they can grow. Fia focuses on encouraging radical acceptance and empowering clients to facilitate change in their lives. They provide a warm, supportive space for individuals to be open about their experiences, and works through a multicultural, intersectional lens by pulling from aspects of liberation psychology. Fia also uses tools pulled from humanistic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and trauma-informed care. Sophia "Fia" Effa, AMFT #147492 is supervised by Dylan McClure, LCSW 94217.

Dylan McClure LCSW 92417 is the founder and clinical director at Rhizome. (Basically, he herds the cats and buys the snacks)

Dylan is a q***r and trans therapist whose clinical work is deeply influenced by his lived experience as a person in recovery from developmental trauma + drugs/alcohol. Dylan is especially curious about the way the social world intersects with, and co-shapes, our internal world. Clients who tend to enjoy working with Dylan are those who are struggling to "make sense" of the world and their place in it, and yet are curious and ready to engage in the therapy process. Dylan's therapeutic work is depth and process orientated. Dylan believes that by deepening connection to ourselves, and feeling into the present moment, we will be able to access the part of ourselves that Is ready to be healed, and to be alive. Dylan is spending his time guiding new clinicians and isn't accepting new therapy clients at this time. Check out our practice at www.rhizomewellness.org

Rhizome welcomes Jamilla Hashem to our team!
Jamilla is a community organizer, artist, and a tender of plants in the garden. June 19th, 2025 marks the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth. This is not the anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation; instead, it marks the day when Union troops arrived in Texas to take control of the state and ensure all enslaved people were free.

Juneteenth is about more than freedom, it is about the promise of opportunity, education, and reparation for generations of enslaved and dehumanized communities. Black history is our history, and it is our responsibility to continue to dismantle systems of harm, and uplift Black lives. Things non-Black people can do today, and everyday: support Black owned business, follow Black content creators to learn more about Black history and the Black experience, and be active in your own anti-racist education.

Follow and make sure to attend Juneteenth celebrations though out the week, and at Halverson Park today!
