Meditation is not evasion; it is a serene encounter with reality.”
~Thich Nhat Hahn
Join us for a weekend silent meditation retreat. Some instruction will be shared on the Vipassana meditation technique. Although all are welcome to come and use whatever method works best for you. Vipassana means to see things as they really are. It is often defined as a practice that seeks “insight into the true nature of reality.” This retreat is for those new to meditation, as well as experienced meditators. It is a method of mental purification which allows one to face life’s tensions and problems in a calm, balanced way. In addition to several sitting meditations each day there will be walking forest meditations and fire gazing meditations each evening. Reach out with any questions. ❤️

Benefits of Vipassana Meditation
(Check out the Silent Meditation Retreat happening this sunday at the Arcata Healing Arts Center)
Vipassana meditators enjoy many benefits from their practice including greater concentration, resilience, equanimity, compassion and sound sleep.
They also experience decreased levels of stress, anxiety, aggression and self-doubt. These benefits stem from persistent and unwavering effort in observing all experiences with a balanced mind.
Vipassana means to see reality as it really is. It’s goal is total purification of the mind by weakening the mind’s habit pattern of constantly craving for pleasant sensations and aversion towards unpleasant sensations.
How would you like to be in harmony with yourself and the world around you??
