Danielle brings many years of experience working with children in a variety of settings, including: daycare/preschool, elementary school, middle school, clinics, and group homes. Danielle has experience working with children of all ages and has supported kids and families going through many different issues, including: healing from trauma, attachment issues, severe emotional disturbance, foster/adopted families, behavioral concerns, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, loss and grief, life transitions (divorce, etc.), bullying, and more.
Danielle has found great success in her work with kids and teens, and credits this to her ability to establish a strong, trusting rapport with each person she works with. Whether it entails crawling on the floor, sitting in a make-believe fort, speaking in a made-up language, diving headfirst into difficult conversations, texting with a teen sitting right in front of her, or just sitting silently...Danielle is prepared and honored to meet your child and family wherever they are currently at. Danielle incorporates modalities like art, play, and sand tray therapy into her work, because she understands that not everyone, especially a child, will be willing or ready to talk about their feelings. Yet through these less verbal activities, they speak loud and clear!
Borrowing from theories including Narrative, Attachment-Based, and EMDR, Danielle will assess your childβs individual needs and collaboratively come up with an effective treatment plan. Danielle tells kids and parents that she sees herself as a βdetectiveβ, working with you and your child to try to better understand The Problem together, and also working together to find solutions that feel realistic, manageable, healing, and hopeful. She offers a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for kids and teens to process even their deepest and most difficult thoughts and feelings. Danielle is also now accepting adult clients who are interested in using EMDR to process trauma or gain clarity around other issues.
