Last Friday, Ernest Hemingway, portrayed by John Dennis Anderson of Greenville Chautauqua: History Comes Alive, visited campus. Residents explored how the author transformed American writing with his direct, no-nonsense style, earning him the Nobel Prize in Literature. His life of bullfighting, womanizing, drinking and hunting was as rebellious as his prose. Thanks for sharing, Ernest!

Today we received a beautiful dusting of snow — and had no power putages with this bout of winter weather!

Our dedicated and hardworking team kept things running beautifully during today’s winter weather. And between caring for residents some were even able to get outside to enjoy the snowfall — like these members of Heather Glen’s team who took turns sledding. We love when nature shows off, and even those who stayed inside enjoyed watching the snow.

We want to say a huge thank you to Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community for helping us while the power was out yesterday. We have portable generators on campus for emergencies, but they brought over an additional generator to help power Heather Glen yesterday. They also sent an electrician to hook up the generators to the building, seen here, so that we could service different parts of the building. He also connected generators at Ardenwoods to the main clubhouse, allowing us to have heat in the dining room.
