Nurturing Mamas Network WE ARE A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS DEDICATED TO OFFERING A FULL ARRAY OF SERVICES FOR

Nurturing Mamas Network has been established to provide nurturing care, treatment, support, and opportunities for connections for Women, Mamas, and young children through counseling for women, mamas, and play therapy for young children, birth doula support. The ability to be connected and supported in your journey as a mother or caregiver to an infant or young child is so important. The emotional, physical and behavioral health of Mamas is one that is frequently not given the beautiful attention it deserves and can leave Mamas feeling overwhelmed, isolated and alone. Nurturing Mamas Network was founded to ensure that Mamas and their littles have a place to be seen, heard, and felt on their journey towards becoming Nurtured Mamas with connected and securely attached littles. Nurturing Mamas Network is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals dedicated to offering a full array of services for women, mothers and their young children such as evidenced-supported therapy for post-partum mood disorders, infertility, birth trauma, pregnancy or infant loss, support for challenges with bonding and attachment, healing from birth trauma, promoting ways to play, be with and nurture young children. It is our hope that you will feel Nurtured, Connected, well, and whole. Services such as massage therapy, doula support, medication management, and play therapy are also offered by Nurturing Mamas Network. We are solely dedicated to Women, Mamas, and Young Children because we believe you are special and warrant individualized care and attention!

Screening moms for perinatal anxiety and depression is one of the simplest tasks we can do to help moms who may be suffering.Who should be screening? Every professional who comes into contact with a mom during pregnancy or in the first year postpartum (P*P, OB, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, PAโ€™s, midwives, counselors, home visitors, WIC programs, hospitals, childbirth educators, lactation consultants).
Standard of Care of testing:
โ€ขAAP recommends screening at 1, 2, 3, and 6-month visits.
โ€ขACOG recommends screening patients 1 time during the perinatal period.
โ€ขAnnals of family medicine recommend 6 and 12 months postpartum.
โ€ขPSI recommends screening at the first prenatal visit, once in second trimester, once in third trimester, at the six week postpartum visit, 6 month and 12 month OB visits, and at the 3, 9, and12 month pediatrician visits.
Despite the importance of screening, studies are reporting that screening is not occurring. "Fewer than one half of pediatricians attempted to identify maternal depression in 2013" -Scudder, L.

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated, or even numb? You're not broken โ€” you're *human.* ๐Ÿ’›

Emotions are your inner signals. They show up for a reason. Often, theyโ€™re telling us:

โ€ข We have **unmet needs** (like connection, rest, safety, or meaning).
โ€ข Our minds are spinning **unhelpful stories** โ€” fear-based thoughts, self-criticism, or worst-case scenarios.
โ€ข We're taking actions that **donโ€™t align with our values,** and something deep inside is trying to get our attention.

Instead of judging or avoiding emotions, try getting curious about them. What are they asking you to notice? What might you need right now?

Letโ€™s stop labeling emotions as โ€œgoodโ€ or โ€œbad.โ€ Theyโ€™re messengers โ€” not problems to fix.

Being a mom can be tough. Did you know that studies suggest that between 20-50% of moms will experience postpartum depression and anxiety?
Anxiety and depression may look like this for some moms: feeling isolated, overwhelmed, like you have lost yourself, feeling angry, guilty, worried, or having other scary and intrusive thoughts.

Youโ€™re exhausted โ€” not just physically, but emotionally. Youโ€™re carrying so much, and it feels like no one truly sees how heavy it is.

If thatโ€™s you, pause for a moment and ask yourself:

โœจ๏ธ What am I expecting to get done right now?
โœจ๏ธ What am I expecting *of myself*?
โœจ๏ธ Are these expectations even realistic for this season of life?

Sometimes, the pressure we feel comes from silent expectations weโ€™ve placed on ourselves โ€” to keep it all together, meet everyoneโ€™s needs, and make it look effortless.

But *you are one person.*

Are there things you can **let go of**, just for now?
Tasks that donโ€™t *have* to happen today โ€” or that donโ€™t have to be done *perfectly*?

Could some of it be **delegated outside the home**? A grocery delivery, a cleaning service, a meal kit?
Could you share the load **inside your home**? Ask your partner, your kids, a friend?

And maybe most importantly โ€” are you **clearly communicating** what you need, *when* you need it, and *how* it needs to be done?

People canโ€™t support you if they donโ€™t know how. You donโ€™t have to be a silent superhero. Youโ€™re allowed to speak up.
