Lets talk floor cards!

These simple, tangible prompts placed on the ground that invite clients to move, explore, and connect with their inner experiences in a new way.

Whether we’re exploring values, identifying emotions, processing trauma, or navigating life transitions, floor cards create a grounded, interactive space for healing.

If you’ve ever felt “stuck” in therapy, sometimes stepping into the work—literally—can make all the difference.

Today, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of our veterans. Behind every uniform is a story. A story of service, strength, and often, silent struggle.

For many veterans, the transition from military to civilian life can bring unique mental health challenges, including post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and moral injury. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness — it’s a testament to strength and self-awareness.

To all who have served — thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your courage.

If you or a veteran you know is struggling, help is available:

Scarves can be more than a fashion choice. They can be used for healing. 🧣

In therapy, healing doesn’t always happen through words alone. Sometimes, the most profound moments of insight and release occur when we engage the body.

They can help us learn more about ourselves and used to calm our nervous system through swirling it to release tension, grounding through slow rhythmic motion, or exploring how your body responds to color, texture, and flow.

In sessions, scarves can become symbols — of letting go, reclaiming space, or finding flexibility. They remind us that healing is not just a conversation of the mind, but a dance of the whole self.

Your inner child isn’t just a memory — they’re the emotional part of you that still longs to feel seen, safe, and valued. When we slow down and listen, we often realize that many of our reactions today come from that younger part asking for care.

Healing your inner child looks like:
-Speaking to yourself with gentleness, not judgment.
-Allowing emotions you once had to suppress.
-Creating safety in your body through mindfulness and self-soothing.
-Choosing relationships that honor your needs.

This is deep work, but it’s also sacred. Every time you offer yourself kindness instead of criticism, you’re rewriting your story — one moment of compassion at a time.

Who said hula-hoops were just for kids?

Here is what Chris had to say about using hula hoops in therapy:

“Ever notice how easy it is to get tangled up in other people’s lives or drama? That’s why there are times that I use hula hoops in my therapy sessions.

Each person has their own hoop - that represents their space, their emotions, their choices. This is a simple way to help clients understand where their boundaries begin and end. When we understand the concept of healthy boundaries, we stop trying to fix, control, or carry what is not ours.

This is a simple, memorable way to explore what healthy boundaries look like - and respecting them strengthens every relationship.”

Here is Jessica with a reminder of what you can control and what you can’t control.
You can’t control how others act, what they say, or every outcome in life — but you can control your attitude, your effort, your boundaries, and how you take care of yourself.
Peace comes when we stop fighting what’s outside our control and start nurturing what’s within it.
