Advanced Network Devices (AND) has a variety of Gen2 IP Clocks and Speakers that are PoE (Power Over Ethernet) and require no special hardware or servers.

Advanced Network Devices (AND) designs and sells sophisticated multi-media products for mass notification, paging, bell scheduling, etc. AND has a rich engineering pool and world class video and audio technology. AND’s IP Speaker and IP Clock technology is widely deployed in a wide variety of markets including education, healthcare, retail, etc. We would love to hear from you and have discussions with other AND fans! As we count down to an exciting new milestone for ANetD, we’re looking back at key innovations that helped shape our journey.

📍 2005, the year we incorporated, we introduced the VoIP 2-Way PA Speaker with Clock, and it brought two major firsts to the conversation:

Two-way communication
With a combined speaker and microphone, communication became bidirectional and was no longer limited to just outgoing announcements.

A clock built into the speaker
By pairing time + messaging in one device, organizations could better synchronize schedules, inform students and teachers, and strengthen everyday communication across their facilities.

Small idea. Big impact. And just one chapter in a story that’s still being written.

In just one week, we’ll unveil an important new milestone for Advanced Network Devices.

As we count down, we’ll take a look back at the moments that shaped who we are today, starting at the very beginning.

📍 The year is 2004.
Brian Donahoe leads the company in the development of ANetD’s core technology, which enabled its first-generation IP speaker.

It was the very first Voice-over-IP, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) public address speaker. And the very first used in classrooms.

By eliminating the need for AC outlet wiring, PoE made installations faster, cheaper, simpler, and more scalable.

This innovation along with multicast capabilities established a cornerstone of ANetD’s approach: PoE and multicast as a standard feature, enabling organizations to deploy critical, real-time communication with greater speed and flexibility.

The rest, as they say, is history — but we’re far from done.

We celebrated a very special milestone as we honored the retirement of our Controller, Becky, after 20 incredible years with the company. 💛
We surprised her with a room full of teammates, plenty of cheers, and, of course, cake.
Her reaction says it all, and it is a moment we will never forget.

Becky, thank you for two decades of dedication, hard work, and positivity. We are so grateful for everything you have contributed, and we wish you all the joy and relaxation in this next chapter.
