Our philosophy since day one has been to treat each resident with the respect and dignity they deserve. Now, more than 60 years later, we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering on that promise. This includes continually evaluating new and evolving care techniques for those living with a form of dementia, Alzheimer’s or memory loss.

Last week, we hosted João Pärtel Araújo, RN, BSN, at our Canterbury Gardens community in Longview, WA, to train a group of our team members in the Humanitude™ care methodology. A new concept in the United States, Humanitude is a person-centered approach to care that originated in Europe and prioritizes deploying techniques that develop caregiver/resident relationships built on trust, so people feel safe, comfortable and dignified during the provision of care.

We are proud to be at the forefront of bringing Humanitude to America, consistently prioritizing how we care for seniors and their families, as well as our staff.
