Rock ’n’ Roll Running Series Washington DC is a vibrant, music-filled tour through the Nation’s Capital featuring a half marathon and 5K, with scenic routes past mesmerizing monuments, all culminating in a high-energy finish in front of the Capitol Building!

Still blown away by the generosity at the WFRE Dinner last week — together, this community raised over $140,000 for the kids of St. Jude. 💛✨ Thank you for showing up, giving big, and helping ensure families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. This is what hope looks like.

Black History Month reminds us that progress is built by people who choose courage — people like Bailey and Kimberlin, two sickle cell warriors who continue to inspire hope, with Kimberlin making history as the first St. Jude patient cured.

It reminds us of the leaders who walked these halls long before many believed change was possible:
• Maurice Walton Tate, RN, the only Black nurse present on St. Jude’s opening day.
• Rev. Dr. Melvin Charles Smith, who began advancing science here in 1962.
• Clara Mason, one of St. Jude’s first advanced practice nurses, shaping clinical care and research.
• Dr. Rudolph Jackson, one of the hospital’s earliest Black physicians and the founder of our first sickle cell program — work so impactful the NIH asked him to lead the nation’s efforts.

Their stories are our foundation. Their legacy is our future. Honoring the past. Inspiring the next generation. 🖤
