If you, or anyone you know has early stage Age-Related Macular Degeneration, there is evidence of red-light or low level light therapy (LLLT) slowing down the progression of the disease. LLLT or photobiomodulation is a non-invasive treatment that uses low levels of red or near-infrared light to stimulate cellular function and promote healing. As of 2024 the FDA authorized use of LLLT for management of dry ARMD. This treatment exposes retinal cells to different light wavelengths, which is thought to slow disease progression and improve visual acuity.
Other uses of LLLT are dry eye disease, rosacea, and meibomian gland dysfunction. Come in for a consultation to see if you’re a good candidate for LLLT.
