Beginning today, RHCs Rural Health Clinics) will no longer receive reimbursement for providing medical Medicare telehealth services to patients located in their homes.
With the expiration of originating and geographic flexibilities, patients will only be eligible to receive telehealth services if they are located in a qualifying medical facility (practitioner’s office, hospital, CAH, RHC, FQHC, SNF, or dialysis facility) that is in a rural area or a health professional shortage area.
This is great news, Arlington Family Healthcare will continue offering this service for those covered by Medicare.

Why Falls Prevention Matters
* Annually, more than one in four Americans aged 65 and older falls, yet fewer than half report the fall to their doctor. Falling once doubles the risk of falling again.
* These incidents lead to approximately 3 million emergency department visitsand 1 million hospitalizationseach year.
* Falls account for a majority of hip fracture-related injuries and a large share of traumatic brain injuries among older adults.
Fortunately, most falls are preventable through education, environmental modifications, strength training, and healthcare collaboration.

PROSTATE HEALTH MONTH
September is dedicated to raising awareness about prostate health and cancer. All month long, Prostate Health Month strives to bring education, information, support, and awareness to the second-leading cancer among men.

Like most health concerns, a healthy lifestyle is the first step toward prevention. Prostate health is no different. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, controlled portions, and regular exercise all contribute to improving and maintaining prostate health.
Another important part of prostate health includes knowing health risks and family history. Both help in the early detection of prostate cancer. Maintaining routine exams is another important part of the process. The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test screens for prostate cancer. A digital re**al exam is also part of the screening process.
While most prostate cancers are slow-growing, not all are. Early detections will increase the success of treatment.
Talk to your loved ones about regular check-ups and prostate health. Some of the topics to discuss include:
* Family history – Learn it and share it with those who will benefit from it.
* Routine reminders – Schedule a routine physical with your primary care physician.
* Visit the Prostate Cancer Awareness website to learn more.
