Dr. Ben Pearl moderated a new Inovationds webinar. The inaugural program featured attorney Max Newman addressing critical data security concerns in credit card processing and HIPAA compliance, followed by board-certified wound specialist Dr. Richard Kaufman presenting breakthrough applications of extracorporeal shockwave therapy for chronic wounds. Shockwave Therapy Shows Promise for Limb Salvage in Challenging Cases

Dr. Kaufman opened with a dramatic case: a 33-year-old diabetic dialysis patient referred for transmetatarsal amputation who kept his toes after weekly shockwave treatments stimulated tissue regeneration where traditional approaches had failed. His presentation detailed how extracorporeal shockwave therapy (marketed as Softwave in some systems) works at the molecular level to create neoangiogenesis, with clinical cases including successful limb salvages in patients with no revascularization options. This technology is now covered by Medicare in certain jurisdictions, making it increasingly accessible as both a standalone treatment and complement to traditional wound care interventions.

"This represents racial discrimination and discrimination against America's LGBTQ community," said the judge, an appointee of Republican former President Ronald Reagan.
