Pain with an overhead press is the #1 thing that lands fitness enthusiasts in my office. 🏋️‍♂️

Usually this is because of:
1️⃣ Lack of mobility of flexion or external rotation
2️⃣ Bad technique
3️⃣ Too much, too soon (weight or volume)

Check these couple of tests and see if you’ve got the mobility to get it done!

2️⃣ Hard to slow down and think clearly
3️⃣ Frustratingly inconsistent

This is one of the progressions I use for golfers learning to use the ground to generate more clubhead speed and distance!

Each of these drills takes time to get comfortable with, so it's good to wait to give high intent until you feel you've mastered the movement.

All of these pair a downward movement of your arms with an explosive upward movement of your legs so you learn how to time and efficiently transfer the force.

This is my favorite kind of message to get (as long as it’s 24 hours in advance😅)

The goal was to get out of pain and back on the course.

Mission accomplished ✅

We’ve still got things to work on, but the point of all of this was to play more golf without hurting. So if you’ve only got one day?

You go play. ⛳️
