CMS has withdrawn approval of The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) as a DMEPOS accrediting organization. As of December 2, 2025, BOC can no longer conduct DMEPOS accreditation activities under Medicare, which means suppliers currently accredited or in process with BOC must transition to another CMS-approved accreditor to maintain or obtain Medicare billing privileges.

Suppliers are free to choose any CMS-approved accreditor and are not required to follow partnership announcements made by BOC.

CHAP offers a clear transition path for DMEPOS suppliers, including a BOC-to-CHAP Crosswalk that shows what transfers, what needs refinement, and what can be eliminated, helping reduce unnecessary rework and administrative burden.

This transition was not your choice, but your next accrediting partner is. CHAP is ready to support suppliers through this change with clarity, stability, and practical guidance.
