Have you ever tried CBT and felt like it just didn’t work for you? You’re not alone.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts and, for many people, can be an effective and helpful mental health tool. But for others (especially those with neurodivergent brains), it can feel like an endless loop of analyzing and debating your own mind.
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) offers a different approach. Rather than changing your thoughts, ACT helps you change your relationship to them. You learn how to notice thoughts without getting caught up in them and make choices guided by your values, not your fears.
If you feel stuck in a cycle of overthinking about your overthinking, ACT may be worth a try.
