March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and we're back with Tip #2 of our Colon Health Tips series. 🩺 Did you know that when colorectal cancer is caught early, the 5-year survival rate is over 90%? But less than half of eligible adults are up to date on their screening. That gap is costing lives.

Here's the thing about colorectal cancer: it often has no symptoms in its early stages. That's exactly why screening matters: it finds what you can't feel yet.

The good news? You have options. From colonoscopies to at-home stool tests, there are more ways than ever to get screened on your terms. Talk to your doctor about what's right for you and don't put it off. Early detection is one of the most powerful tools we have. 💙

If you or someone you love has been affected by colon cancer, our Colon Cancer support community on Inspire is a place to connect with people who truly understand.

If you've heard about RP1, a promising new treatment for melanoma but aren't sure how to access it- you're not alone.

RP1 is a newer therapy that isn't yet widely available. Compassionate use is a pathway that allows some patients to access treatments like this before they're fully approved. Navigating that process can feel overwhelming without the right guidance.

In partnership with Melanoma Research Alliance we're hosting a special Ask the Expert session on Inspire with Dr. Eric Whitman, MD, System Medical Director of Oncology at Atlantic Health and he's here to help answer your questions.

Dr. Whitman will be answering your questions starting Monday, March 9th through Thursday, March 12th at 6PM ET.

💬 You can post your questions now: https://www.inspire.com/groups/melanoma-exchange/discussion/09a881-ask-the-expert-accessing-rp1-through-compassionate-use/?utm_source=referral&utm_medium=web&utm_content=copied_link

There’s no perfect way to tell a child that someone they love has cancer. But there are ways to make it a little easier. 💚

From March 8–12, we’re hosting a very special Ask the Expert with our partners at the Pickles Group on How to Talk to Kids About Cancer.

Kelsey Mora, a Certified Child Life Specialist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, will spend the week answering your questions so you can feel a little more prepared for one of the hardest conversations a parent or caregiver can have.

Post your questions on our discussion page from now until March 12: https://www.inspire.com/m/Kelsey_PicklesGroup/journal/ac5296-ask-the-expert-how-to-talk-to-kids-about-cancer/

High triglycerides are sneaky. 👀 No dramatic symptoms. No obvious warning signs. Most people only find out through a routine blood test.

But your body is always communicating. Here are some early signs to watch for:
🫃 Unusual bloating after meals
😴 Feeling more sluggish than usual
🖐️ Unexplained skin changes
😖 Recurring abdominal discomfort

None of these confirm high triglycerides on their own but if they sound familiar, it's worth bringing up with your doctor. 🩺

Already navigating high triglycerides and looking for people who actually get it? The High Triglycerides Support Community on Inspire is here for you. Connect today: https://www.inspire.com/groups/high-triglycerides/

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and we're kicking things off with Tip #1 of our Colon Health Tips series: the importance of fiber. 🥦

Did you know an estimated 95% of Americans aren't getting enough fiber in their day? That's a lot of us falling short on something that matters more than we think.

Here's why fiber is such a big deal for colon health: it keeps things moving, reduces the time that potential carcinogens spend in contact with your colon lining, and helps feed the good bacteria in your gut that support a healthy digestive system. More fiber = a happier, healthier colon.

The good news? Small swaps add up fast. Think beans, berries, whole grains, broccoli. These are foods that are delicious AND doing your colon a favor.

Stay tuned throughout the month for more tips to help you take action for your colon health. 💙

It’s Rare Disease Day! 💜🦓

Today we’re celebrating the millions of people living with rare conditions and the incredible strength, resilience, and creativity it takes to navigate life with one. Life with a rare condition isn’t just about managing symptoms- it’s navigating long journeys to get answers, juggling work and school, and figuring out how to stay connected with friends and family when no one around you really gets it.

Today and every day, we recognize that every story shared, every connection made, and every person who reaches out to support someone else is part of something bigger: a community that understands and supports one another.

If you or someone you love is living with a rare disease, know that you’re not on this journey by yourself. Connect with others who understand in our support communities on Inspire.com

Nearly 30 million Americans will experience an eating disorder in their lifetime.

This Eating Disorder Awareness Week, we’re highlighting the common signs of some of the most prevalent eating disorders. Eating disorders can look different for everyone — from binge eating disorder (BED) to bulimia, anorexia, or ARFID — and not everyone realizes they have one.

Eating disorders affect people of all ages, genders, and body types- you can’t tell if someone is living with one just by looking. Signs can include changes in eating habits, secretive or restrictive behaviors, compulsive exercise, or intense worry about weight or nutrition and the reasons behind why people may develop an eating disorder are just as varied.

Recognizing the signs early and knowing help exists is key. Awareness is the first step toward support and recovery.

If you or a loved one are living with an eating disorder, you don't have to go through it alone. Our Eating Disorder Support Community is here for you to connect with others who understand, share your story, and find encouragement. You can join the community today on Inspire: https://www.inspire.com/groups/eating-disorders/
