LBL is proud to once again sponsor the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce State of Higher Education. It’s always great to hear about the impactful work happening at TCC and The University of Texas at Arlington and the momentum building across our community. We’re especially proud to have several team members who are alumni of both institutions.

As Arlington continues to grow, it’s exciting to see how strong K-12 systems, like those supported through initiatives such as the Arlington ISD bond, help create a direct pipeline into higher education. Investing in our schools today helps shape the future of students, our workforce, and the community as a whole! 💙💡

Meet Jonathan Lucatero! 👏

Jonathan is a proud Arlington ISD graduate on track to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2028.

He has been a valued member of the LBL team for seven years, contributing to a wide range of projects throughout the Arlington community, many of which are part of the local AISD bond program. He is one of the few team members who had the opportunity to work directly on one of his former schools, Bailey Junior High School - Arlington ISD.

We’re proud to see Jonathan helping shape the same community he grew up in. We’re grateful to have him on the team and excited for what’s ahead!

The new gym at Miller Elementary is a central hub for students, staff, and the campus community. Designed to support learning, play, and connection, the facility includes over 5,000 square feet of space with basketball and volleyball courts, restrooms, offices, and storage, allowing PE teachers to expand athletic programming and student engagement. 🏀⚽️🤸

Beyond athletics, the gym also serves a critical role as a storm shelter, providing a safe space for the school community during severe weather and bringing added peace of mind to staff and families. 🌪️

This project, completed as part of the previous Arlington ISD Bond program, reflects a continued investment in student experience, safety, and growth across AISD schools.

Early voting kicks off this week in City of Arlington, TX - City Hall, and if you’re heading to the polls, you may find yourself stepping into a piece of LBL history. Two polling locations, the Tarrant County Southeast Sub-Courthouse and the Elzie Odom Athletic Center, show how our work continues to serve the community in multiple ways.

Fun facts: the courthouse replaces the original 1978 Precinct 2 facility, also designed by LBL, while the Elzie Odom Athletic Center sits right along the Trinity River. Wherever you cast your vote, we’re proud to have played a role in the spaces that bring Arlington together. 📍📋

Shoutout to Trey Thrush, AIA! 👏

Trey is one of our registered architects who joined LBL after graduating from The University of Texas at Arlington. An Arlington ISD alum, he has played a key role in major district projects from previous bond cycles, including the renovation of Arlington ISD College and Career High School and the Bailey Junior High School - Arlington ISD renovation and addition, along with numerous campus improvements across the district.

Trey earned his Master of Architecture from UTA before becoming licensed and remains actively involved in the community, serving with Partners in Education through the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and on the board for Arlington ISD Education Foundation. We’re grateful to have Trey on our team and appreciate the dedication and impact he brings to both our projects and the community.

Did you know Bailey Junior High School - Arlington ISD is one of the longest-standing campuses in Arlington ISD?

Through the previous bond package, this campus saw a transformation designed to support the next generation of students, while preserving the character that’s long been part of the Arlington community. From a new 10-classroom addition and secure entry to an expanded cafeteria and kitchen, every update was focused on creating more functional and welcoming spaces for students and faculty.

Behind the scenes, major upgrades made a lasting impact too, ADA-compliant restrooms, updated electrical and HVAC systems, and refreshed office spaces. Outside, improved traffic flow, expanded parking, and landscaping enhancements help the campus operate more smoothly day to day.

What makes this project even more meaningful? It was designed by Trey Thrush, AIA, an Arlington ISD graduate, bringing his experience full circle by helping shape the future of the district that shaped him.

Meet Alora Freeman 👏

An Arlington ISD grad who started with us as an intern, Alora is now a The University of Texas at Arlington CAPPA student (Class of 2027) and will celebrate 5 years with LBL this year! From contributing to AISD campuses and helping bring improvements from previous Bonds to life, to working on concept designs for UTA West, she’s made her mark on projects across DFW.

Next up: after earning her undergraduate degree, Alora plans to continue into graduate school and work toward licensure. We’re proud to support her growth and love seeing that full-circle journey from AISD to UTA CAPPA and back into shaping spaces right here in Arlington, TX.

🎬🎥Quiet on set! We’re excited to share our recent project: Funded by the last Bond, Arlington ISD CFACE transformed a former grocery store into a community hub. This new space features a multimedia studio for districtwide film and communications with full acoustic design, a sound room, dressing area, flexible production space, and green & blue walls. Beyond the studio, we also updated the site and front office, including secure fencing, refreshed parking, and a modern reception, supporting CFACE as a community hub.

This project’s design was helped led by former AISD graduate Alora Freeman, and it’s always exciting to see our AISD alumni shaping spaces within the district they grew up in! 🎓
