The covid vaccines have been approved for children 5-11 yrs.
We think the vaccination of children 5-11 yrs is advisable and safe.
At this time we are not offering covid vaccine due to other constraints,
however we have compiled a partial list of local vaccine clinics.
Arlington Health and Human Services
Only children 5-11 yrs may be vaccinated at these clinics.
The following are dates, times and locations for first dose clinics:

Saturday November 6 9am- 4 pm Arlington High School
869 Mass Ave, Arlington

Tuesday November 9 4-8 pm Thompson Elementary School
187 Everett St, Arlington

Wednesday November 10 4-8 pm Dallin Elementary School
185 Florence Ave, Arlington

Pre- registration is required. You may pre- register your child at
tinyurl.com/PfizerYouth. Please note, you must make
a separate appointment for each child receiving a vaccine.

CHA Somerville Vaccine Clinic
Starting Monday November 8, CHA Somerville Vaccine Center
at 176 Somerville Ave, Somerville, has walk in clinic hours.
Monday and Tuesday 11am- 630 PM
Wednesday thru Friday 830am-4pm.

Pre-register at CHA

Pharmacies
Walgreens and CVS are also available to do the vaccine. Please
go on their websites to access an appointment: walgreens.com
or cvs.com

Other towns, Lexington, Cambridge, Belmont, Wi******er etc, will be having vaccine clinics
for their school children. The schools will be notifying parents directly.

What to expect:
Do wear a mask which covers your nose and mouth and socially distance
Do expect large numbers of people
Do bring entertainment. There may be a short wait after you arrive.
There is a 15-30 mins observation time after the vaccine
administration.
Dress to allow easy access to the upper arm
Do not bring the whole family. To ensure everyone's safety, please
only bring children 5-11 yrs who are receiving the vaccine.

2021-2022 Flu vaccines

We will be doing our Flu vaccine clinics by appointment again this year.
At this time we are awaiting our flu vaccine supply which has been delayed by the hurricane season.
As soon as we have confirmation about our vaccine shipment, arrival date and number of vaccines, we will post our Flu vaccine clinic schedule. Again this is done by appointment only. No walk ins or add ons.

We hope all are healthy and safe during this ongoing Pandemic and the start of the new flu and cold season.

We continue to see our patients for well visits, vaccinations, injuries, rashes, ADHD, behavioral health and non flu like illnesses. For flu like illnesses, which need more testing that we are unable to do in the office at this time, we are referring our patients to Wi******er Hospital's Urgent Care sites in Wilmington and Woburn. These sites share our electronic medical record, improving continuity of medical care. By not seeing patients beyond our ability, we ensure our practice remains open for primary care throughout the ongoing Pandemic and upcoming flu and cold season and the best possible care is given at the correct location.

As the flu and cold season starts and continues, we are evaluating our office guidelines to include other procedures safely so to decrease referrals to Urgent Care, while we ensure our families and staff are safe and the best possible care is provides at the correct location.

GREAT NEWS! Persons 12 years and older may receive the Covid 19 vaccine at Lahey, 29 Mall Road, Burlington. You do not need to be a patient of BILH and walk-ins are being accepted!!!

WE, at ABC Pediatrics, hope all are well and being safe. Summer weather is coming! Please enjoy safely!
The Pfizer covid vaccine is now available to children 12-15 years of age.
We recommend going to the mass.gov/vaccine site and register for the vaccine.
If you or your child are a patient at Boston Children's, you may register though
MyChildren's Patient Portal for the vaccine. We will post more info as we are notified. We are open: seeing children for physicals and non flu like illness.

Massachusetts is distributing the COVID-19 vaccine in a safe, equitable, and efficient manner. Learn about when you can expect to get vaccinated.

Our thoughts are with you all during the Holidays in this Pandemic.

We have a new testing site for children 3yrs and older: 8 Presidential Way in Woburn. A doctor's order is still required so please call the office to allow us to assess your child's situation and make appropriate plans. As we gain more information about covid 19, we are identifying better times to test people to give more accurate results.

Please continue to consult the www.cdc.gov website for up to date information and other covid 19 testing sites.

With the Holidays here and the Pandemic making it hard to be with friends and family safely, our emotions may make it difficult for us.

We hope all are well and safe during this crazy year of 2020.
If you want to requesting a covid 19 test:
1)if you want to go to our testing site in Wi******er for 3 years and up, the hours are 830am- 1pm Mon- Friday and results take 2-3 days. This requires doctor's order so please call our office to speak to the nurse.
2) if you prefer to go elsewhere, please go to cdc.gov covid testing sites and input your location to identify testing sites.
Please also ask for how long the test takes for the results and how you will be notified.

If you have questions regarding insurance coverage, please call your insurance company.

Dear families,
On behalf of our entire staff at Alewife Brook Community Pediatrics, we want to thank you for choosing us for your health care.
Your health and safety is, and always will be, paramount to us. As the public health concern surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) grows, we want to keep you informed on the precautionary steps we are taking. We are working hard to do everything we can to be prepared and address your concerns.
Rest assured, we are taking every precaution necessary to mitigate the spread of the virus. To that end, we want to share some of the steps we are taking:
• We have prevention programs in place to reduce the likelihood that our office would be affected by the Coronavirus, including educating our staff, monitoring of potential outbreaks, communicating and coordinating with critical service providers and suppliers, and assuring you that we have always had the highest standards of hygiene training and protocols in place within our office.
• We are adjusting our schedules to accommodate acute, NON FLU, care appointments to decrease exposure to others as much as possible.
• We have increased our vigilance in disinfecting frequently touched common areas within our office and have hand sanitizer available for use throughout the office.
• We continue to monitor our employees and take appropriate action to reduce exposure if an employee is exhibiting flu like symptoms. We instruct all patients who exhibit any signs of illness to stay home.
• Our exam rooms, instruments and waiting area are being disinfected frequently.
Additionally, in accordance with recommendations from the CDC and WHO, we are screening patients for any recent international travel and any symptoms of fever or flu.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
