Today’s my 36th bday.

I wanted share some parts of me that go beyond my love of food and nutrition.

Although, can you tell I love food ?!?

Self-reflection brings me joy because of the clarity I find.

Clarity is liberating.

You walk with less weight on your shoulders, with better posture, and stamina.

It’s not that everything is perfect - far from it. It’s that I see my path forward with more ease.

It’s having tools to find solutions, it’s having a growth mindset, it’s calling things what they are with confidence.

And let’s be clear, I did not arrive here overnight. The pain, heartbreak, detours, and set-backs are part of my journey.

Yet, we here!

On to making more moves to contuine creating a life that feels good for my nervous system.

AND movement can look different for everybody.

If it’s walking, sitting on a chair, or laying in bed. Movement is always part of the assignment and/or the treatment.

I remember as a CNA that was something I always advocated for my bedridden folks or those that could sit up but not move much.

If you are able to, please get your lab work, screenings done

Access to healthcare is and has been affected. And that in itself is a determinant of health.

Check your local free clinic, clinic fairs, or ask in your community center if there are resources available for you.

Didn’t mean to make AMSR yet here we are.

Legume salad

2 -14 oz cans of garbanzos drained and rinsed
1-14 oz can of kidney beans drained and rinsed

😬The rest of the ingredients are by taste.

Red wine vinegar
Olive oil
Salt
Garlic powder
Pepper
Oregano

An easy prep and go-to to add fiber to any meal.

Fiber is known to decrease cholesterol, heart disease, manage blood sugar and keeps you 💩 regular .

💫Important note * increasing fiber intake is a gradual process done by also increasing water intake

If you rush into increasing fiber intake, you can experience bloating , pain, and even the opposite effect you want : constipation
