February is Pet Dental Health Month 🦷🐾

Dental health is about more than fresh breath, it’s about comfort, overall wellness, and preventing infections from worsening!

In urgent care, we commonly evaluate pets for:
• Facial swelling from tooth root infections
• Broken or fractured teeth
• Oral pain causing decreased appetite
• Excessive drooling or bad breath
• Gum inflammation and advanced periodontal disease

Signs your pet may need to be seen:
• Dropping food or chewing on one side
• Pawing at the mouth
• Swelling under the eye or along the jaw
• Sudden changes in appetite
• Noticeably worsening breath

Dental problems often start small but can progress if left untreated. Early evaluation and treatment can prevent more serious complications and help your pet feel better faster.

This sweet girl came to VEHA Urgent Care not feeling her best and her family was understandably worried. From the first phone call to discharge, our team focused on clear communication, gentle handling, and making sure both pet and family felt supported.
