Our staff, along with our incredible nursing students, are already in the Valentine’s spirit here at Millwood Hospital. While February is often about showing love to others, we want to gently remind you: your recovery deserves love too.

Whether you’re early in your journey or maintaining long-term stability, self-love is essential. Here are three practical ways to practice self-love this Valentine’s season:

🩷 Protect your peace with healthy boundaries - It’s okay to decline invitations, avoid triggering environments, or limit contact with people who don’t support your recovery. Choosing your well-being is strength, not selfishness.

🩷 Change the way you talk to yourself - Recovery can bring up guilt or regret. Instead of hash self-criticism, try speaking to yourself the way you would to someone you care about – with honesty and compassion.

🩷 Take care of your body as part of your healing - Prioritize sleep, attend appointments, take medications as prescribed, and nourish your body. These small daily commitments are powerful acts of self-love and self-respect.

Healing takes courage. If you or someone you love needs additional support, Millwood Hospital and our outpatient Branches centers are here to support children, teens, adults, and seniors both in their mental health or substance use struggles. You deserve recovery. And you deserve care.

Our Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers flexible, accessible support for adolescents ages 12 to 17. Sessions run from 6-9 p.m., giving teens a structured therapeutic setting that fits into their evening routine.

Virtual IOPs can be a helpful option for families who need consistent care without the challenge of traveling to and from a facility. Participants engage in group therapy, skill‑building activities and ongoing support from licensed clinicians in a secure online environment.

To learn more about the benefits of virtual IOP, check out our recent blog post: https://bit.ly/45SZrzY.

As winter weather approaches DFW, our Business Development team is out in the community delivering snow preparedness kits to many of our community partners and local first responders.

This holiday season has been especially meaningful at Millwood Hospital as our staff and leadership came together to give back to the communities we proudly serve. Through the generosity of our team, hundreds of toys were donated to families supported by our friends at Lena Pope, helping bring joy and comfort to children and their families during the holiday.

Our staff also signed more than 100 holiday cards for residents at Azle Manor Nursing Home, sharing messages of hope, kindness, and holiday cheer with seniors.

Millwood Hospital donated to support the important work of the local Presbyterian Night Shelter and the services through Journey Home, helping ensure vital services remain available for those in need during the colder months.

These acts of giving reflect who we are at Millwood Hospital and our Branches clinics. Beyond providing behavioral health and detox services for children, teens, adults, and seniors, we are deeply committed to compassion, connection, and community. Giving back is one of the many ways we support the families who trust us with their care, not just during the holidays, but all year long.

Turn to our behavioral health center in Arlington, TX, for medical assistance. We provide behavioral health services to our patients.
