The truth is life is full, stress and burnout are at an all time high. Women are putting their health on the back burner - prioritizing family and/or work at the expense of their own well-being.

That’s why .abit and I created these monthly drop-ins.

Our intention is to give you a chance to give yourself the time, space and permission to pause, connect and reflect.

The chance to carve-out the time and space you rarely give yourself to explore your own personal relationship with well-being, leadership + success. They’re a chance to put yourself first.

These monthly sessions will serve as a small group mentorship for women who want to take a different approach to health and stress management. We want to challenge the belief that to achieve success we have to push ourselves to the limit, often putting our physical, mental and emotional health at stake.

During these sessions we’ll share simple, sustainable tips, tools and conversations that will support you as you figure out what you need to go from ‘just surviving’ to sustainably thriving in all areas of life.

Is the current reality making you feel more stressed than normal? Does everything feel overwhelming? Do you feel like you are on the brink of burnout? If, the answer is yes, you are definitely not alone.

You may feel like you have too much to do and not enough time. Or like you need to do it all, because if you don’t you will be letting someone down. So, you keep going and going... saying yes to all the meetings, family commitments and obligations; until you are mentally and physically exhausted.

You may have been condition to believe (I know I was) that the only option is to keep pushing through. But, this mentality is unsustainable.
And, here’s the thing, I there is a better way. It is possible to figure out what you need and works for you so that exhaustion, feeling unwell and burnout are not the norm.  

At some point in my life I went through some version of this scenario and after much trail and error it became cleat that my stress and overwhelm were magnified by the fact that I did not have boundaries. Once I started to work on setting clear (and kind) boundaries, I had more energy and space to take care of myself and those around me.

Getting clear on your limits allows you to start more comfortably and confidently saying “no thank you” to the things that no longer serve you and open up time and energy for the things that are a “big yes” in your life.

This won’t happen overnight, but once you start integrating what you’re learning into your day-to-day, you’ll be setting the foundation for a more manageable relationship with stress and overwhelm.

Lately I’ve been talking a lot about boundaries. With the ever-evolving demands of our current realities, the clear delineation between how much time and energy we give to the different parts of our lives may be feeling a bit fuzzy.

Yet, the idea of boundaries often ignites confusion which can lead to frustration + overwhelm. And, when we live our lives feeling like we are constantly giving our energy away, we can feel exhausted, stressed, fragmented and on the verge of - or maybe in the thick of - complete burnout.

A few weeks ago .abit and I were talking about the huge toll 2020 has taken on many of our clients. Stress + burnout are at an all time high and women are bearing the brunt of this pandemic at home + work. The way we are working and living right now is not sustainable and making us sicker.

At our core we know it doesn't have to be this way.

These community conversations will be a space where we can:

• Rethinking what workplace wellness looks like,
• Explore the role we play in improving our wellbeing at home + work
• Learn how to build an empowered relationship with stress

Popping in to say: I changed my mind. I’ve decide to extend the deadline to enroll in YOU Thrive. I’m opening registration back up until this Sunday at midnight.

I know I said that doors were closing last Thursday, but something in my gut tells me there are a few more people that might have missed the deadline.

I know life has been fuller than usual; you are paying attention to so many things it may have slipped your mind. Or you may have considered joining but feel like you don’t have the time.

I totally get it. I’ve been feeling it too. The last few weeks have been stressful.

My, normally under control, to do list feels longer than normal. I haven’t been sleeping well, I’m feeling less focused and way more scattered.

All week I’ve resisted doing the things that I know make me feel good (getting fresh air, limiting social media, morning meditation and taking work breaks).

My excuse has been I don’t have time. But, I know better. Stress sneaks up on you. And it's so easy to slip into the vicious cycle and let it take over. When this happens I know I need to pause, regroup and find the time to figure out a game plan.
