According to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, heavy bleeding during your period is not normal and may need some type of medical support if:

* You have to change your tampon or pad more than once every 1 to 2 hours
* Your period lasts more than 7 days
* You or a family member have a problem with blood clotting
* You feel dizzy or faint

Your Omega provider is skilled and trained to support patients with abnormal bleeding, and there are many options for treatments include birth control pills, hormone medications, hormonal intrauterine devices, and sometimes minimally invasive procedures.
