Roger’s story is a powerful reminder of how early detection, personal commitment, and advanced technology can change lives. What started as a standard primary care visit quickly turned into a wake-up call and a journey that would not only save his life but also transform his health in more ways than one. Roger learned his PSA levels were elevated and that he had type 2 diabetes. Roger decided to make some major changes. He lost 88 pounds and sought care from Dr. Adam Hollander, a urologist on the medical staff at USMD Hospital at Arlington. Eventually, Roger underwent a successful robotic-assisted prostatectomy using the da Vinci Single-Port system at USMD Hospital at Arlington. Today, he’s cancer-free and back to doing what he loves. Read more about his inspiring journey and how single-port robotic surgery is transforming prostate cancer care.

We are proud to recognize Ron Collins as our newest BEE Award recipient. The BEE Award stands for Being Exceptional Everyday and honors non‑nursing team members who go above and beyond to support patients and staff. Just like a daisy needs a bee, great patient care depends on caring, hardworking support teams.

Ron truly embodies this spirit. He makes sure every patient receives meals that fit their dietary needs and personal preferences. He takes time to talk with patients, notices what they enjoy, and adjusts meals so they’re both nutritious and comforting. His positive attitude and creativity make every meal a better experience.

Congratulations, Ron — and thank you for being exceptional every day.

Recently Melissa noticed a safety concern in the Operating Room and immediately took steps to mitigate the situation and avoid any potential patient safety issue. Way to go, Melissa! Thank you for your attention to safety!

Please help us welcome Dr. Jefferson Hurley, M.D., FACS, FASCRS to our medical staff. Dr. Hurley is a board certified colorectal surgeon with Texas Colon and Re**al Specialists. Dr. Hurley is especially interested in robotic surgery and is excited to now have access to utilize the da Vinci Single Port robotic system.
And here’s something extra exciting...
USMD Hospital at Arlington now has TWO Single Port robots which means our patients get access to the most advanced minimally invasive technology in the region.
Why does that matter for colorectal surgery?
✔️ Minimally Invasive
✔️ Faster Return to Home
✔️ Greater Precision
✔️Reduced Postoperative Pain

Outside the OR you’ll find Dr. Hurley reading, weight‑training, doing yoga, cycling, hiking or just happily outdoors.
Help us give him a warm USMD welcome
We’re thrilled he’s here and excited for what this means for our patients.
