Yesterday, we had a great day at the Tarrant County College Health Science Industry Engagement Event. This event brought together healthcare organizations and educators for meaningful conversations about TCC’s health sciences programs and how we can work together to support the development of future healthcare professionals in our community.

USMD Hospital at Arlington is proud to partner with the colleges and universities across DFW that are training the next generation of nurses, surgical technologists, imaging specialists, and many others who play a vital role in patient care.

Thank you to TCC for hosting such an engaging and collaborative discussion. We look forward to continued partnership and opportunities ahead.

With the recent retirement of our former CEO/CNO, Kathy, we are pleased to announce the following leadership updates:

Joe Minissale will serve as our Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Joe’s experience and steady leadership will help ensure a smooth transition during this time.
Lydia Ameka has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Lydia’s leadership, collaboration, and operational expertise have made a tremendous difference in our success, and we’re excited to see her take on this new role.
Jaime Bentley has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Jaime’s dedication to quality care and nursing excellence has been an inspiration, and we’re thrilled to have her leading our nursing teams.
We’re confident that this leadership team will continue to guide our hospital with the same commitment and passion that Kathy has shown throughout her career.

Roger’s story is a powerful reminder of how early detection, personal commitment, and advanced technology can change lives. What started as a standard primary care visit quickly turned into a wake-up call and a journey that would not only save his life but also transform his health in more ways than one. Roger learned his PSA levels were elevated and that he had type 2 diabetes. Roger decided to make some major changes. He lost 88 pounds and sought care from Dr. Adam Hollander, a urologist on the medical staff at USMD Hospital at Arlington. Eventually, Roger underwent a successful robotic-assisted prostatectomy using the da Vinci Single-Port system at USMD Hospital at Arlington. Today, he’s cancer-free and back to doing what he loves. Our CEO, Kathy, has officially retired after years of dedicated service and leadership. Kathy has been with USMD since before it was even USMD, shaping its culture, inspiring excellence, and bringing energy and joy to everything she touched.

She has been a fierce advocate for both our patients and our staff, ensuring that compassion and quality care remained at the heart of everything we do.

While we’ll miss her dearly, we are so grateful for the legacy she leaves behind and the countless lives she’s impacted along the way.

Join us at Webb Community Park on Saturday, November 1 for The Walk, an inspiring community event hosted by USMD Hospital at Arlington and the TREO Foundation. Together, we’ll raise awareness and funds to support treatment, research, and education around obesity care.
Check-in begins at 9:00 AM and the walk kicks off at 10:00 AM. Whether you walk a little or a lot, your presence makes a difference. Registration includes a t-shirt (while supplies last), and kids under 12 can join for free.
Let’s stomp the stigma and take steps toward better health—rain or shine.
