Get to know Texas Health! Meet Wendy McCarthy, Pharm.D., a clinical pharmacist at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery Plano. Wendy is in our employee spotlight and talks her path into healthcare, what inspires her at work and what she enjoys outside the hospital.

When asked what is your favorite part of your job, Wendy said, "My favorite part is being a trusted resource for the care team, especially when I can help prevent a medication error or offer a solution that improves patient outcomes. Being one of the smaller Texas Health facilities, the sense of teamwork here runs deep. My co-workers feel more like family, and that close-knit environment makes even the toughest days purposeful."

Last week Texas Health Frisco, Texas Health Allen and Texas Health Plano celebrated the "topping out" of the new Collin College Health Sciences Center. This new center designed with the workforce development needs of our region in mind will provide the highest levels of healthcare education for a much lower cost to students. Texas Health Frisco, Texas Health Allen and Texas Health Plano are proud to invest in the student lounge area that will provide study, rest, and collaboration opportunities for Collin College Heath Sciences students.

When asked can you talk about your involvement in Culture & Connection, Ebony said, "I co-lead our Culture & Connection team with our chaplain. We strive to build a workplace where everyone feels valued, wanted and welcomed. We encourage our teams to celebrate each other’s backgrounds and connect on a deeper level. When people feel seen and supported, they’re empowered to do their best work — and that strengthens our culture as a whole."
