Get to know Texas Health! Meet Raquel “Rocky” Hinton, M.S.N., RNC-OB, a labor and delivery nurse at Texas Health Frisco. Rocky is in our employee spotlight and is known for championing patients and the Nursing Career Advancement Program (NCAP).

“I let patients know from the beginning that I am 200% their advocate,” said Rocky. “I come in and introduce myself and feel people out to see where they are at. If they seem happy, I start with ‘Hey, y’all ready to have a baby today?’ But if they are quiet or scared, I try to sit and talk with them.”

We have the best nurses!

We're training for the unexpected. A maternal code simulation at Texas Health Arlington Memorial brought together teams from L&D, the ED, NICU, trauma, EMS, pharmacy, respiratory therapy and chaplain services—strengthening collaboration and preparedness for the unexpected. The maternal and birthing simulator is designed to cover the mother’s labor and delivery journey, from maternal initial assessment to postnatal care.

“It is a fully interactive learning tool that we’re excited to have in our facility to conduct simulation training for critical obstetric emergencies,” said Joni Belz, D.N.P., R.N., CEN, TCRN, CAISS, NEA-BC, director of Clinical Outcomes, Innovation, & Trauma Services at Texas Health Arlington Memorial. “Our high-fidelity simulators mimic the symptoms of real patients, providing an immersive training experience that mirrors bedside care.”
