Get to know Texas Health! Meet Chloe Carbine, B.S.N., R.N., PCCN, a charge nurse in a general surgery unit at Texas Health Fort Worth. Chloe is in our employee spotlight and talks about how she has grown as a nurse at Texas Health. She started as a nurse extern with Texas Health 7 years ago.

When asked how do you do your life’s best work at Texas Health, Chloe said, "I honestly think I am doing it right now. I am a part of multiple committees at Texas Health Fort Worth – the clinical excellence council and the professional governance council. I have helped spearhead multiple projects with the unit-based council (UBC) on Justin 6. Last year, our UBC co-chair and I created turn teams to help prevent hospital-associated pressure injuries (HAPIs). This year, with the help of our manager, we used existing medication education materials to make stickers to hand out to patients when they get new medications during admission. We also created an audit sheet that charge nurses use to monitor whether the labels are being used."

When asked why do you think it’s important for nurses to pursue certification, Josh said, "Certification is important for providing a higher level of care, staying up to date with changes in medicine and setting an example for my team about the importance of learning and professional growth. Plus, it’s motivating to know you’ve achieved a nationally recognized standard."
