Did you know there are many different variations of twins? Not just “fraternal” and “identical” 💕⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In fact, we just classify that DIZYGOTIC twins are “fraternal” because they came from TWO eggs (Di = two)⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And MONOZYGOTIC twins are identical because they came from ONE egg (Mono = one) ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
tips_from_nurse_tori_ also did an awesome all-inclusive post about ALL the different types, so go check her post out!⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are some of the common kinds:⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ Diamniotic Dichorionic “Di Di” (2 amniotic sacs & 2 placentas), can be fused OR separate, as depicted above! These types of twins can be identical or fraternal!⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ Diamniotic Monochorionic (2 amniotic sacs & 1 placenta) These types of twins can only be identical!⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ Monoamniotic Monochorionic (1 amniotic sac, 1 placenta) These types of twins can also only be identical, and this is the most rare type!⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Where are my multiple mamas at? 👶👶👶👶⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you know what type of twins you have? 💕⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ok, REAL talk ladies. That loud and messy house one day will be quiet, spotless and lonely. Your house at one point will be exactly how you want it, but you won’t have little one’s around – picking you flowers, coloring pictures, dumping out legos to make you the best creation ever, splashing water from the tub – that will be over and you will inevitably miss the days where the home seemed a wee bit too chaotic. Don’t compare yourself. Don’t compare yourself to moms that have older kids and seem to have started to get their s**t together, don’t compare yourself to Instagram moms that look like they are living the best life, with the best husbands, in the prettiest houses, don’t compare yourself to a magazine laying your counter in the kitchen with the color coded baskets and neatly stacked books. Do NOT compare. Learn. Your home, and your life do not define you as a mother. 💗

Are you having a C-Section? ♥️⁣⁣.⁣⁣Here are some tips about recovery! 🥰⁣⁣⁣⁣
✴️ Take it EXTRA EXTRA slow. Many people find that they really can’t do much of anything but hold/feed baby in the first few days at home. ⁣⁣
✴️ Contrary to what many think, yep....you still have vaginal bleeding (I know, some people don’t realize that!). You’ll still have approximately the same amount of vaginal bleeding that a woman who has had a vaginal delivery will have. Your placenta still detached from your uterine wall, and that takes time to heal!⁣⁣
✴️ There’s a big incision on your abdomen, so bending down WILL take some getting used to! ⁣⁣
✴️ Going along with that, make SURE you hold your incision with a small pillow/towel/something when you cough/sneeze/laugh etc. This helps decrease the stress on the incision, and can help decrease the likelihood of it re-opening.⁣⁣
✴️ Ibuprofen and stool softeners are you friends, take ‘em unless you have contraindications!⁣⁣
✴️ And finally, make sure you have lots of help! This goes for either way you deliver baby (obviously), but esp for c-section mamas, because you will be much more limited in the early days! Whether it’s your partner, your family or friends coming over, make sure you have ample support lined up, you’ll need it! ♥️⁣⁣⁣⁣
C-section mamas, do you have any other recovery tips you can share? 💜⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Let’s do a Play-doh anatomy lesson! 😂🙌🏻⁣.⁣I feel like a LOT of people (not just pregnant people) aren’t really 100% clear on what’s going on in there when you’re pregnant. ⁣⁣
You know there’s a baby, a placenta, and baby is in this amniotic fluid type stuff, but how does it all connect and work in there?⁣⁣
👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻⁣⁣
This is basic anatomy 101, depicting a low-risk pregnancy, and I would say that baby is about 20-ish weeks 😂 ⁣⁣
My placenta in relation to my baby is a little bigger than I had liked it to be, but you get the idea!!⁣⁣⁣⁣
