We are pleased to share that Dr. Michelle Nguyen, MD is now seeing surgical patients at The Harman Eye Clinic! Dr. Nguyen is a comprehensive ophthalmologist. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health San Antonio, where she served as Chief Resident and earned the Leone Resident of the Year Award. Prior to that, she earned her medical degree with distinction from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies.

In her free time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys cooking, traveling, and walking with her dachshund, Bailey. A devoted sports fan and plant enthusiast, she brings warmth, curiosity, and dedication to both her patients and her community.

Fireworks can cause serious eye injuries, including burns, corneal abrasions, and even blindness. The American Academy of Ophthalmology strongly advises leaving fireworks to professionals to protect your vision and your family’s.
👁️ Eye Safety Tips for Fireworks Season:
✅ Attend public fireworks displays instead of lighting your own.
✅ Stay at least 500 feet away from lit fireworks.
✅ Never allow children to handle fireworks, including sparklers, which burn at 2000°F and can easily cause serious eye injuries.
✅ If you experience an eye injury:
• Do not rub your eye.
• Do not rinse with water.
• Do not apply pressure or remove any objects stuck in the eye.
• Call 911 or seek emergency medical care immediately.
Your vision is precious. Celebrate safely so you can see the beauty of every firework for years to come.
