Yes, those 5G towers are closer than you think.
And no most of us weren’t given a choice.

5G towers emit high-frequency millimeter wave radiation, which travels short distances… so they’re placed lower, closer to homes, schools, parks - even right outside your child’s bedroom.

Whether you feel the effects or not, the exposure is real.

Studies are still catching up, but early data links this level of radiation to sleep issues, headaches, DNA damage, and more.

You have a right to know what’s operating near your family, so let all your neighbor’s know too ⚠️

We all have the opportunity to make our voices heard at the FCC Oversight Hearing by writing TODAY.  The hearing is December 17th

The Childrens Health Defense Fund has made it very easy. Comment “ACTION” for the link where you’ll find an email form to fill out that will go straight to your representative 📧

Now because this is a Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation hearing, we can only contact the committee members that represent the state where we live.  Committee members are from:

Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

Are you still scrolling before bed?! 😵‍💫

This study of 45,000 young adults showed that the more they used their phones or tablets in bed correlated with a higher likelihood of insomnia. 
The study didn’t say it was specifically because of the blue light exposure, but we know it definitely affects a good yummy restorative rest.

Blue light exposure from phones, tablets, and TVs tricks your brain into thinking it’s daytime! It stops the melatonin from being released in our bodies and can not only make it harder to get to sleep, but can ruin the quality of your sleep too 😬

That’s where blue light glasses come in!

Wear a nice transition color after sunset like orange or amber to help your body wind down naturally, soften man-made light glare and reduce eye strain.

Then an hour or two before bed try traditional full spectrum blocking red glasses or the green lenses I’m obsessed with.

I found them because I just can’t deal with the way a red lens ,makes me, well, see red! The green blocks 100% of 460nm wavelength of blue light. And here are 3 light studies that make me happy I’ve chosen Green Sleep Prep.

1.Green, it turns out, is the most relaxing and calming color. (Kaya, N and Epps, 2004 )

2.Scientists discovered that after putting mice in front of blue, purple and green light, it was the green, at 430 nm, actually made them fall asleep quickly(Pilorz et al)

3. Surprisingly, red light (not red glasses specifically)can make people feel alert, anxious and cause negative emotions—which of course is the opposite of what you want when trying to fall asleep earlier and easier (Pan, R., Zhang, G., ... Pan, J., 2023.)

Why you should join the wired headphone revolution 🎧

A recent global impact study estimated the prevalence of thyroid nodules to upward of 67% 📈

You should know that thyroid nodules are most common in people over 50 and they don’t always mean something terrible.

Even if nodules are or do become common, they’re not healthy and normal.

But a 2024 study discovered that extended periods of Bluetooth headphone use can increase the risk of thyroid nodules. In fact it did for 12.2% of participants.

If you’re wearing your headphones for your workouts, studying, commuting, running errands - then reduce how long you’re using them for, or better yet toss them out 🚮

AirPods, Bose, Sony Wireless and other wireless headphones always and only use Bluetooth.  Bluetooth emits electromagnetic radiation at lower power levels or a lower power density than WiFi or cell phones. Even so, you don’t want this radiation right next to your beautiful brain and sensitive organs like your thyroid.

If you did want a safe update, you can cut the exposure with a wired headset like our anti-radiation air tube headphones ❤️

I’m hoping this sweet moment 💍encourages you to stop looking down at your phone and to instead look up and look out as often as possible. It’s good for your soul and Science has shown us many times in the last decade that it’s good for your mental state too. I’ll share the latest study, but first . . .

Tonight I was walking at sunset -looking up- taking it all in when right before me I noticed a man drop to his knee-with a little open box in his hand. I kept walking of course- smiling deeply inside.

I walked to the end of the beach turned around and he was still on bended knee talking to her intently.
And I thought wow, no one’s taking pictures— based on what I see on social media I thought all engagements these days come with a friend hiding in the bushes, a hired photographer or a huge preplanned event with family and fireworks.

This was a quiet intimate moment just for them—and me apparently because of all the people on the beach- some actually not on their phones I was the only one who seemed to notice.
I didn’t want to interrupt but now I was far enough away to grab this shot. I often do have my phone with me on beach walks- dangling on a strap around my wrist and on airplane mode—hoping I’ll see a few of my dolphin friends- but tonight I was so happy to capture this moment. I learned the newly engaged couple felt the same way when I approached them later as they sat on the beach looking out at their lives ahead of them.

Being intentional about Not mindlessly scrolling(I can get sucked in too)can actually make you feel better about yourself:

A study with over 67,000 inputs found that individuals experienced more guilt over their smartphone use when they had mindlessly scrolled for a longer period . . ,Daily analyses revealed that mindless scrolling was also associated with small negative changes in well-being,. . . Individuals with less self-control were more prone to experiencing goal conflict after mindlessly scrolling.

Just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean it belongs in your basket 😬

This season, let’s rethink the “must-haves” we’re constantly being sold. Artificial candles? Smart assistants in every room? Blue-light blasting gadgets for the kids?

Some of the most giftable items can also be the most harmful when it comes to your health, hormones and environment.

If you do decide to purchase these or similar items with wireless elements, keep them as far away from your body and main living areas as possible.

Even small shifts like moving them out of bedrooms, turning them off when not in use or disabling its WiFi - can reduce unnecessary radiation exposure.
