Yoga has taught me how to find balance within myself. Not just one one leg.

It's hardly ever easy to get there, but yoga gives me the tools to regulate & find my center. Growth takes time and it is not linear. Yoga also reminds me that I'm whole and complete. Everything I need is already inside. I need only to look.

Just a random gentle reminder that balancing is hard. Growth isn't linear. You are complete. Strength lives inside you.

Today’s practice started with frustration and pain 😤

I was forced to meet myself where I was in that moment. The things I wanted to do hurt. And in yoga, we never do anything that's painful. That meant I needed to slow down. I didn't want to slow down. I didn't want to feel. I didn't want to face my physical boundaries & listen to my body. I didn't feel like observing & working that fine line between effort & ease. Experiencing the sensation before the pain to get to the release. I didn't want that challenge. I, I, I....

But that's exactly what my body & spirit needed. Yoga has a funny way of doing that.

It doesn't always look pretty. It's not always fun. Sometimes it's a hot mess. That's life!

This practice taught me more than I wanted but exactly what I needed. And because I slowed down & listened, I allowed my body to start its healing process. I gained a little more range of motion with less little less pain & a lot more patience.

Sometimes the hardest thing in the world is to slow down...and listen. It doesn't matter how long you've been practicing, we all wake up like this sometimes. We all struggle through a practice only to come out tattered & tired on the other side. But all the stronger for it.

What Yoga is teaching me right now:

Tapas is usually described as a 'burning effort,' but right now I am understanding, it's really an anchor.

Over the last few weeks the challenges have kept piling up. Small, expensive, big, scary. I've found my mind trying to wander down old pathways to spiral & wallow in the depths of despair & fear. But Yoga reminds me that I have an anchor through Tapas. I can harness my internal fire for discipline & positive action instead of fueling the fear in my mind.

Fire burns, yes. But we can control the burn. And with that we can clear pathways for new growth.

Deborah Adele says: "It is in this barren place, where we have exhausted all that we have and all that we are, that new strength is shaped and character is born if we choose to fearlessly open ourselves to the experience. It is perhaps the greatest gift life could offer us."

We can control the burn. With our breath. With our daily practice. By opening our hearts up to life as it is right now & surrending to the lesson. Breaking open instead of breaking down.

May we all remember that showing up for ourselves now - even in the midst of the fires of life - we are creating a greater, stronger version of ourselves in the future.

If you're in the fires of life right now, you are not alone. If you'd like to learn more about Yoga and Tapas, send me a message! We can grow together ✨

Ever feel like you're in a continuous loop of changing channels? 📺
When we're stressed, our body stays in "fight or flight" flipping chaotically through the channels. It’s exhausting. But here’s the cool part: You actually have a built-in remote control to press the pause button.
It’s called the Vagus Nerve.
As I’ve been diving into my massage therapy studies, I’ve become obsessed with how this one nerve acts as a pause button for our stress. It’s the bridge between your brain and your heart, and it’s just waiting for a signal that it’s safe to relax.
The best part? You don’t need a fancy upgrade to use it. You can guide your nervous system through simple things like breathwork, a low hum, or a gentle neck stretch. ✨

My favorite thing about yoga? The mat doesn’t have an opinion.

It doesn’t care if you’re wearing the latest set or a baggy t-shirt. It doesn't care if you can touch your toes or if you need every prop in the room. Some days the practice feels like flying & other days, it’s just about staying upright.

Every practice is different, but the support is always the same. As long as you have your breath, yoga is waiting for you. ✨

The first 30 minutes of your day are a sacred window ✨

When you first wake, your brain is doing something incredible called the Cortisol Awakening Response. It’s a natural surge of energy designed to wake you up, but if we feed it dings and doom-scrolling or dive into obligations, that energy turns into scramble-brains real quick.

Honoring this transition is life changing. I know this first hand. Waking up to face another day doesn't have to feel chaotic or unfulfilling. It can be a slow, intentional flow that puts you in a place of strength, peace, and motivation.

What is the very first thing you do when you open your eyes? Try something new tomorrow morning! ☀️

Yoga doesn’t always happen on a mat or in a quiet studio. Sometimes, the most "advanced" practice happens in the driver’s seat on I-20. 🧘🏻‍♀️🛣️

Yoga is my secret weapon for regulating my nervous system in these streets. When DFW traffic starts testing me, I’m reminded that the breath is the one thing I can always control - I can’t control the person cutting me off without a blinker.

Taking the practice off the mat and into the commute sets a more peaceful tone for the day.

I can always find plenty of excuses to skip the mat, but today, I showed up anyway. There’s something so special about finding your flow even when the energy feels low. A gentle reminder that you don’t need to be "ready" to begin, you just have to show up.

The mat has no judgement & always accepts you as you are.
