to surprising me by showing up to class. 🥹
It was so special to celebrate by actually being with one of the strong women who supports me on and off the mat.
I’ve been so lucky to move through an industry largely led by women. The teachers, the students, the studio managers, the friends I’ve made on and off the mat, so many of you are women who reminded me what I was capable of and empowered me.
So grateful for you Steph. And to all the amazing women who have taught and led me, on and off the mat. 🤍
PS. I may have been having so much fun that I hurt my calf in the process 😅 So if you see me moving a little slowly in class this week, now you know why. Still showing up, just moving a little more mindfully 😂

So grateful for goofy grins. Thanks to Alex C for reminding me that bad jokes, silly smiles and a phenomenal playlist are all ways to bring positive vibes to my workout.

The way you workout easily bleeds into how you live your life outside the yoga room. Especially when life gets heavy and things get crazy (and let’s be real, things are real heavy and crazy ATM) it’s our opportunity to rise up, not take ourselves to seriously and try to be beacons of positivity and peace.

The reminders are everywhere and the more we listen the more power we hold in the face of the challenges that confront us in the world.

Nothing like a soul filled Saturday. Vinny I am so lucky to have the privilege to learn and practice with you! particing together is a treat and more than a nice in a week, I’m super duper lucky we have been thru thick and thin and we still look cute in photos! Go out and celebrate the things and people that make you feel lucky today!

When I first started doing yoga I did it because I wanted a fat a** and skinny waist. 🤦
Apparently the universe knew what really need was to calm down, breathe and make some friends. I’m so grateful the humans that keep coming back, remind me of strengths and opportunities, thank you for a beautiful class! and HAPPY Birthday I can’t believe its been *cough cough* years since I met you. Neither of us have aged a day😅

These incredible humans just finished Yoga Teacher Training! It’s been an amazing time studying, learning, practicing, laughing and sharing yoga together. They worked hard, they grew and I am so grateful to them for choosing to go on this journey, for committing to share yoga with others (however if manifests) and for letting me be a part of the voyage. I will miss our Tuesdays and Thursdays together, but I know I will see you in the world on and off the mat, and some of you will be back soon for the Advanced Teacher Program. Can’t wait to continue our journey!

This is 40?!?!?
I think I finally made it past the shock of never imagining myself past thirty. Growing up in the 90 with fear as q***r person meant that I didn’t have as many q***r role models in this age group to look up to, to put myself in their shoes one day…. But here I am!

I have more regular aches and pains, but overall I feel stronger, healthier and more at peace in my body and with my body than have before.

I’ve been around long enough to witness the world change one way, then back again. Nothing is permanent which is simultaneously beautiful and tragic (I love you always Ginger Rihana Rogers).

I’ve been practicing yoga in this body longer than I haven’t, and almost spent more time teaching then I haven’t. I credit my physical health partly with my physical practice, but I also know that physical health is possible from trying to practice my yoga off the mat and how that improves my mental condition.

If you’ve read this far, go do yoga, you’ve spent enough time on your phone already. Oh and thanks for being here. I get to do what I love because people like you support me 😘🫶

Yoga with weights didn’t come naturally for me. Nothing with these long limbs and weights did. But I found that once I liked yoga, and tried yoga with weights, that other weights and physical activities were less intimidating. Every class still makes me nervous but it also when I can turn to laugh to friendly faces. I definitely worked harder (and more in the front row) because of these two.

Still can’t believe I almost flopped an audition… because of a backbend. 😅

Years ago, I was a nervous new teacher trying to keep my cool, until casually floated up into a next-level floor bow mid-class and completely derailed my internal monologue. (I think my jaw hit the mat.)⁣
⁣
Funny thing is… reacting to her pose was probably the most authentic thing I did that day. If I hadn’t shown my awe, I’m not sure I would’ve gotten the job.⁣
⁣
Since then, she’s continued to inspire me—not just with bendy magic, but with the way she moves through change and teaches contentment in every breath.⁣
⁣
Thank you for your beautiful class today and for the reminder that yoga brings us exactly who we need. Thanks for being a rock in a changing world. 🫶
