For those who celebrate Thanksgiving, it is a time each year when we reflect on and express our appreciation for the many blessings in our lives. While 2025 has presented some pretty hefty challenges for me and for my family, I know that our issues pale in comparison to many. Take, for example, just a few of the patients that I've seen this past week. There was a gentleman fighting stage 4 kidney cancer, a woman who had just lost her job after 17 years, another woman who was dealing with her second diagnosis of lung cancer (all while still doing volunteer work), another lady upset about her sister being moved into a skilled nursing center with dementia, etc. So many folks are dealing with seriously difficult situations that most will never know about. So please, the next time you encounter someone who is grouchy or who says or does something that you don't like, please try to be compassionate. Approach them with kindness and a willingness to understand their intentions or needs and then help if you are able. Getting angry and/or hurting someone's feelings is not productive.
For me, I am incredibly thankful to have a job that I love, great coworkers, and so many wonderful patients who choose to trust Arnold Family Eye Care with their eye health and vision care. I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! Dr. B

10 years ago today, Arnold Family Eye Care staff first reported to work. Two current employees have been here from the start-- Dr B (me) and Renea, our beloved office manager.

I have worked in eye care for almost 31 years and with Renea for 25 of those years. Throughout that time, I have had hundreds of co-workers in many different settings. But, there is not a single person among them who has performed with such dedication, accuracy, care, compassion and kindness as Renea. Thank you, Renea, for all that you do and for being the epitome of a team player!

Thanks to so many of you, we have changed this former Hostess bread store space into a thriving optometric practice! As long as you keep coming, we will do our very best to serve up top notch eye care.
