Our wonderful residents enjoyed a lovely dinner prepared by our very own Chef Carlos. It was a lovely night with fantastic food (our residents requested Prime rib as their main course meal) awesome live music and great lasting Christmas memories.

For some seniors, the holidays can be lonely. Senior Angels of the Central Coast is working to change that by making sure older adults in San Luis Obispo County feel remembered and celebrated.

The nonprofit fulfills wish lists for seniors in care facilities and in People’s Self-Help Housing.

“It means the world,” said Peggy Bittle, a senior at the Arroyo Grande Care Center. “It’s exciting knowing that you’re not forgotten.”

AGCC Chili Cook off 🌶️

Our residents and staff got to taste different types of chili from our wonderful staff members who impressed all of us with their amazing homemade chili recipes! A bonus on a rainy day. ☔️🌧️💧

We had a blast judging!

And the winners are: 🥇Julie Ann from Activities, our Chili CookOff champion, who won a date night snack basket and an hour at Sycamore Hot Springs! 🥈Shannara from Dietary took 2nd place, and 🥉Nova from Dietary took 3rd place.

Huge thanks to Jeff for the private tour and sharing his passion with us. The picnic afterwards was the perfect ending to a fantastic outing! Special shoutout to our sister facility, Wyndham residence for always lending us your bus! 🤍

Erin’s Taste & Learn 🧀

This month’s taste and learn is Erin’s Pecan Cheese Balls. Perfect appetizer for the holidays and a perfect appetizer for our lovely residents and staff. We also learned all about Pecans! Did you guys know that Pecans are a heart-healthy food providing antioxidants, fiber and a significant amount of zinc!
