The Science of Reading (SOR) proves that the foundations of becoming a reader starts at the sound & sound combination level. Our Neurodevelopmental model of reading and learning integrates the SOR along with the processing skills that are necessary to become a reader. These include memory, attention, oral language (comprehension & expression), processing speed, visual processing and auditory processing. By strengthening THESE processing skills, we build new neuropathways for children & teens with dyslexia and dyslexic symptoms (poor spelling encoding, poor writing ✍️, poor reading decoding & weak language skills) so that they can access their schoolwork, build confidence, improve grades and THRIVE! 🤓📚🧠

While picture clues help young readers with comprehension and vocabulary, we have to make sure they know what to do when the pictures disappear!
