If you want to feel in control instead of hanging on for dear life in the bumps and trees, here’s how I’d train for that.

First, train reactivity and control - quick steps, lateral hops, and deceleration drills teach your body how to stay balanced when the terrain changes fast.

Second, strengthen your trunk and hips - Anti-rotation and stability work keep your upper body calm while your legs handle the movement.

Third, learn to absorb force - controlled landings, and plyometrics build the ability to take impact and stay centered through turns.

Sore knees don’t have to be part of skiing.

They’re usually a sign your training missed the mark.

If I wanted bulletproof knees before hitting the slopes, here’s what I’d do:

💪Strengthen the muscles around the joint. Your quads, glutes, adductors, shins, and hamstrings = the support system.

🧠Train control, not just load. Slow eccentrics and isometric holds build joint stability.

🔁Move in every direction. Side lunges, skater hops, rotations — so your knees can handle whatever the mountain throws at you.

If your knees feel fragile now, don’t wait until December to fix it.
