The parotid glands are two salivary glands that sit on each side of the face, just in front of the ears. Salivary glands make saliva to help with chewing and digesting food. Parotid tumors are growths of cells that start in the parotid glands. Most (80%) of parotid tumors aren't cancerous. They can be asymptomatic, or can cause a lump or swelling in the face, or facial weakness or numbness. Contact our office at 303-431-8881 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
