The parotid glands are two salivary glands that sit on each side of the face, just in front of the ears. Salivary glands make saliva to help with chewing and digesting food. Parotid tumors are growths of cells that start in the parotid glands. Most (80%) of parotid tumors aren't cancerous. A cochlear implant is an electronic device that improves hearing. It can be an option for people who have severe hearing loss and can't hear well with hearing aids.
