Granola sold in stores is often very high in sugar and low in real nutritional value. Store-bought granola takes cereals (i.e., oats, millet, corn, etc.), seeds, nuts, and sweeteners and bakes them at very high temperatures to obtain a crispy texture. Cooking at high temperatures can damage the nutrients of those foods and make them either unavailable to us, or even non-existent. When we eat foods like these, our bodies may have a hard time digesting and recognizing them, which in turn can cause various health issues that many people face today.

You can make homemade granola by using proper preparation techniques to be able to digest and reap nourishment from it, which is exactly what this soaked granola recipe is designed to do.

What is the “proper” way to prepare granola you ask? Read the full recipe to find out!

👩🏽‍⚕️ Supporting GLP-1 Naturally: A Functional Approach for Practitioners

GLP-1 medications aren’t a passing trend.

They’re changing how clients think about weight loss, metabolism, appetite, and health - and they’re changing the landscape for health, fitness, and nutrition professionals.

We’ll also talk through GLP-1 supplements, long-term considerations, and practical coaching strategies that support sustainable results including for clients who plan to come off the drug.

Every year, there seems to be a few new food trends that pop up in the grocery stores, restaurants, and in viral videos. Just because a food is trending doesn’t mean that it’s a bad thing, but it does help to take a closer look to see if these are healthy options.

Grocery stores, culinary organizations, and especially the media love to guess what will be the next big fads in food. So it’s worth analyzing some of the latest foods that are expected to take off next.

Congratulations, Kaylee!!!

The closeout of 2025:
For me, 2025 was a year of challenges and growth. It’s the year I graduated Nutrition Therapy Institute with a Master Certification in Nutritional Therapy, concentrating on the gut-brain axis. It’s the year I got a job at Natural Grocers Vitamin Cottage as a nutrition health coach, teaching classes, hosting 1 on 1 coaching sessions, and cooking demos; the first job I absolutely love and can make an impact through. It’s the year I developed lasting friends, and adventured whether it be in the mountains, at the beach, or back home to New England. The year I became a personal chef, and the year I watched myself grow further in gym. Grateful for the abundance 2025 brought me in many ways, and even more grateful to experience 2026 and grow further into the person I want to be and to pass my holistic nutrition board exam! For those that know me, they know I got chronically sick, and to see where I’ve grown and to be in an field of study where I’m always lending a helping hand and giving advice to those who need it is such a rewarding feeling. Cheers to 2025 and onto 2026! 🎉

Finally! The government is saying what NTI has been teaching all along!

The new Dietary Guidelines for Americans mark the most significant reset of federal nutrition policy in our nation's history.

The message is simple: Eat Real Food!
And eat far less highly processed foods!

We have a lot more to say about this. Stay tuned!!

In an era of industrial agriculture and mass-produced food, small dairy farms are disappearing at an alarming rate. As large-scale operations dominate the market, many consumers are left disconnected from where their food comes from and how it is produced. In this episode of NTI PodTalk, Dianne sits down with Joe Miller, Managing Partner and Sales Director of Kalona Supernatural, to explore how regenerative agriculture is helping support America’s small family dairy farms and why it matters for human health, soil health, and the future of real, nutrient dense food. Beyond regenerative farming, Joe explains why Kalona avoids ultra-high-temperature pasteurization and homogenization, and how their processing methods protect milk’s natural structure, enzymes, and nutritional integrity.

If you care about where your milk comes from, how your food is produced, and the long-term health of our land and farming communities, this episode is a must-listen.
