Social anxiety is more common than people realize-often hindering our ability to be authentic and in the moment. By shifting your focus internally to being outwardly present, you will not only learn to lesson your own anxiety. But can help create cohesive, natural connections with others.

Managing social anxiety involves a combination of challenging negative thoughts, practicing gradual exposure to feared situations, and using relaxation techniques. Start by identifying irrational thoughts—such as assuming others are judging you—and reframing them with more balanced, realistic perspectives. Instead of avoiding social events, take small steps, such as initiating a short conversation or attending a small gathering, to build confidence over time. When anxiety rises, ground yourself by focusing on your five senses or practicing slow, deep breathing to calm physical symptoms like a racing heart. Finally, adopting healthy habits—such as limiting caffeine and getting adequate sleep—along with practicing self-compassion, can help reduce overall anxiety levels. If these symptoms interfere significantly with your life, professional therapy, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), is highly effective

Easily frustrated? Try to step away from what you’re doing rather than continue to submerse yourself in the chaos

As therapists-we always preach to others what we should practice. If I didn’t partake in my daily self care rituals, I wouldn’t be able to run my business (well).

Seasonal depression is not a personal failure. It is a real mental health condition that shows up as the seasons change. Shorter days, less sunlight, and disrupted routines can all impact mood, energy, sleep, and motivation.

If you notice yourself feeling heavier every fall or winter, you are not imagining it and you are not alone. Support helps. Therapy, light exposure, routine shifts, and self compassion can make a real difference.

If seasonal depression is affecting your daily life, virtual therapy can be a supportive place to start. You deserve support in every season. Link in bio to learn more.

4 things to stop doing in 2026. Your nervous system cannot heal while in “grind” and “hustle” mode. Learning how to regulate and feel safe while slowing down is where true healing happens.

If you’re in Colorado and ready to begin your therapy journey head to the link in bio to get started.

When lawmakers talk about budget cuts, it can sound distant and political. But cuts to Medicaid are not abstract. They directly impact access to mental health care for children, adults, families, and people with disabilities who rely on it to survive and heal.

Medicaid is one of the largest funders of mental health services in this country. When funding is reduced, waitlists get longer, providers close their doors, and people in crisis have fewer places to turn. Therapy becomes harder to access for the very communities who need it most.

Mental health care is not a luxury. It is health care. And access should not depend on income level or zip code.

If this matters to you, stay informed, speak up, and advocate for equitable access to care. Our communities deserve better.

It’s totally normal and natural to feel nervous about therapy if you’ve never gone before. Here’s what we want you to know about your first session at Silver Linings:

You are in control of how much or little you share.
We don’t expect you to spill all of your deepest secrets during the first session (and even first handful of sessions).
We want you to move at whatever pace is most comfortable for you.
You are ultimately in charge of your healing journey and we’ll be here to support you through every step of it.

We got your back. Whether you’re a long time therapy patient or you’ve never gone in your life, we’re here for you.
