Your dog doesn’t have to be in pain to benefit from chiropractic care.

Many people think chiropractic care is only needed when a dog is already showing signs of discomfort.

But one of the biggest benefits of chiropractic care is supporting the body before symptoms appear.

Dogs don’t need perfect movement to live happy, active lives. What matters most is comfort, mobility, and the ability to enjoy daily activities.

Walking with their family
Playing with other dogs
Exploring the yard
Jumping up for their favorite cuddle spot

Supporting mobility and nervous system function early can help dogs stay comfortable and active longer.

Wellness care helps maintain healthy joint motion and balanced nervous system function so the body can continue moving and adapting well over time.

If you’d like to learn more about how chiropractic care can support your dog’s wellness and help them age gracefully, I’d love to connect.

Your dog is speaking… you just might not know the language yet. 🐾

Dogs communicate with us all day long through their body language, movement, and behavior.

A look away
A stiff body
Moving off the couch when you sit down
Suddenly not wanting to jump into the car

These small signals often mean something,
but most dog owners were never taught how to recognize them.

Imagine being able to:

• understand what your dog is trying to communicate
• recognize when something might be physically off
• respond in a way that helps your dog feel safe and supported
• feel more confident as a dog owner

That’s exactly what dog trainer Kasey Dugan and I will be teaching in our upcoming workshop.

3 small clues your dog’s body might be compensating 🐾

Dogs often adapt when something in the body isn’t moving quite right, which means early signs can be subtle.

Here are three simple things you can observe at home:

• Paw dragging, do the back paws move smoothly, or do you hear scuffing or dragging?

• Nail wear, are some nails more worn down than others?

• Spinal sensitivity, when you gently run your hand down the spine, do you notice flinching or a ripple in the skin?

Changes like these can sometimes indicate the body is compensating for restricted movement somewhere else.

Becoming familiar with your dog’s normal movement can help you notice changes earlier.

Take a moment today to observe your pup and see what you notice.

Most dogs give several warnings before behavior escalates.

The problem is most owners don’t know what those signals look like.

Imagine being able to notice those cues early and respond in a way that helps your dog feel safe and understood.

That’s exactly what we’re going to teach in our upcoming workshop.

Dog trainer Kasey Dugan and I will walk you through how to better understand your dog’s body language, behavior, and signs that something might be off.

Back to real life today 💫

Gym ✅
Patient visits ✅
GSD time ✅
Home life ✅

And honestly… it feels really good.

This weekend gave me the space to rest, reset, recharge, and reflect in a way I didn’t realize I needed. Grateful for the time, the conversations, and the clarity that came from stepping away.

Now I get to come back grounded, focused, and intentional, not just for myself, but for my patients and their people 🐾

Prioritizing my self-care.
Honoring my energy.
Continuing to show up fully for the care I provide.

Because when we take care of ourselves, we show up better for everything and everyone we care about.

This work is a lot more emotional than people realize.

I don’t just show up, adjust, and leave…

I celebrate the wins
I notice the small changes
and I think about my patients long after I’m gone

Because when you work this closely with animals and their people…
it’s never just “another appointment”

I see the relief when they start feeling like themselves again
the bond between pets and their people
and the love behind every single visit

And I feel all of that.

Because I know… they’re not “just pets”
they’re family 🧡💙

Being trusted to care for them is something I never take lightly.

🐾 Move better. Feel better. Live better.

Drop a 🐾 below if your pets are family too 🧡💙

Heading into a women’s entrepreneur retreat this week with Jen Bee

And it’s a powerful reminder of something I talk about often with my patients and clients.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do… is step away.

In both life and business, we aren’t meant to operate in constant “go mode.”
Your nervous system needs space to reset so you can think clearly, move intentionally, and show up fully.

This week is about:
🐾 slowing down
🐾 reflecting on what’s working (and what’s not)
🐾 reconnecting with my vision
🐾 and creating aligned next steps

Because when we take care of ourselves first. We show up better for our people.

For my patients, my pet parents, and this community 💙

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or stuck, this is your reminder:
Taking a pause isn’t falling behind. It’s setting yourself up to move forward with intention.🐝

3 Early Signs of Compensatory Patterns in Horses 🐴

Horses are powerful and resilient animals, but they often compensate when something in the body isn’t moving quite right.

Because of this, early signs of restriction can sometimes be subtle.

Some of the things horse owners may notice include:

• One lead consistently harder than the other
• Uneven muscle development or tone through the shoulders or hindquarters
• Behavioral resistance during certain movements or transitions

These changes can occur when the body is adapting to restricted motion in a joint or area of the spine.

When one part of the body isn’t moving well, other areas often work harder to make up for it.

Over time, these compensation patterns can place additional strain on muscles and joints.

That’s why proactive care and regular mobility checks can be valuable for helping horses stay comfortable, balanced, and performing at their best.

Noticing the small changes early can make a big difference.

We often think big changes in our health have to come from big actions.

But in reality, lasting change is usually built through small steps repeated consistently over time.

Even a 1% improvement each day can create meaningful change in the long run.

In chiropractic care, we often see this in the way the body responds to small shifts:

• restoring motion to a restricted joint
• supporting better nervous system balance
• improving how the body moves and adapts

Those small adjustments help the body communicate and function more efficiently.

Over time, those small improvements can add up to better mobility, better comfort, and better overall function.

The same idea applies outside the office too.

Small daily habits like moving your body, getting outside, managing stress, and paying attention to how your body feels can make a big difference over time.

Health, like momentum, is often built one small step at a time.

Optimizing health, elevating life

Dr. Jennifer Andrade is a Colorado native. From a young age she was always interested in helping people and was fascinated by the human body. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. During the last year of her undergraduate studies she was involved in a car accident with a friend. Following the accident, that friend sustained a concussion and suffered daily, debilitating headaches that nearly forced him to drop out of school. He sought treatment from acupuncturists, medical doctors, neurologists, physical therapists, and massage therapists and found no relief. Then he sought treatment with a Chiropractor and his headaches quickly disappeared and he was able to get his life back. After witnessing the amazing benefits of Chiropractic, she was convinced and decided to pursue a career as a Chiropractor.

Dr. Andrade graduated Magna Cum Laude from Parker University in Dallas, TX in August 2014. Her philosophy on health is “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Benjamin Franklin. She strives to educate her patients to take control of their health, so that they can continue doing what they love and to be a partner in their journey towards better health and wellness.
