Is your marketing generating sufficient quality leads for your psychotherapy practice?
Did the pandemic disrupt your counseling business?
You are not alone! The pandemic disrupted how we market and deliver therapy services.

Adapting your marketing program can help your practice thrive. If you are wondering how to market your private psychotherapy practice during a pandemic, this online event is for you.

COLORADO ASSOCIATION OF PSYCHOTHERAPISTS

SHARE TRUE STORIES -- HELP MAINTAIN RP'S RIGHT TO PRACTICE

Dear CAP Members:

The legislature is considering this month an amendment to the Mental Health Sunset Act – HB1206. If passed, it will eliminate Registered Psychotherapists. We need your help to have the amendment removed so that RPs will not be put out of business. If you can, please contact legislators to inform them of how this amendments will deny access by Colorado residents to the mental health professional they choose. You might help let legislators know who they are putting out of business.

I recently talked with a couple of RPs with 15+ years of experience who donate time to those in need in addition to serving the public. One has donated 10,000 hours during his career to veterans. Even more exciting is the effectiveness of the treatments they offer. Sharing stories of real service will help dispel the misinformation and distortions of reality that have been promoted about RPs. Please write your legislator and share your story. If you know an RP who is effectively treating a specific population, you might share that as well.

Please forward a copy of your stories with names and those served to us. With our lobbyist, we will compile the stories to help dispel the gross misinformation being told about RPs. Also, please encourage RPs who are not members of CAP to join to support our legislative efforts to protect their right to practice.

Thank you for your help.

For Colorado Registered Psychotherapists
OCTOBER 19, 2017 -- Chronic Pain Control: Altering Reality.

Vicki Ellis teaches others how to train their nervous system to control chronic pain. Although Vicki has suffered from chronic pain most of her life, she appreciates it because the pain pushed her until she discovered science-based Intrinsic Touch, plus mindfulness-based techniques to stop her pain. When she teaches her techniques to others, the vast majority are able to control their pain, too.

Learn Vicki's Intrinsic Touch October 19th.
Please visit http://www.coloradopsychotherapists.com/event-2669052 to register.

Vicki studied neurobiology to earn her Biomedical Science/Anatomy Master’s degree from Colorado State University (2001). After using her CB Intrinsic techniques for several years, she applied her training to review dozens of current, peer reviewed, neuroscience research articles regarding how the nervous system processes pain. Her techniques for stopping pain are in line with the research. Sharing that information helps others know these techniques are valid.

Vicki’s book Chronic Pain Control: Altering Reality describes bottom-up (from the source of pain to the brain) and top-down (from the brain to the source of pain) techniques for nearly everyone to control their own pain. It also provides reader-friendly, scientific explanations for how these techniques work, citing dozens of research articles. Through her book, readers learn how and why their nervous system is easily taught to control chronic pain to the point of stopping it for significant periods of time.

NOVEMBER 16, 2016 Expressive Writing for Self-support and Reflective Practice: How classic journal-writing techniques can be harnessed for your professional development.
Expressive writing is increasingly shown to be a powerful therapeutic tool. Many therapists recommend journal writing to their clients but neglect to offer the same beneficial tools for themselves. We’ll look at how classic journal techniques can be applied to both clients and professionals to further goals of learning and self-awareness. Don’t forget to bring a something to write with!!!
