Maintain a sense of being grounded to the earth, to the present, to our own selves takes practice. We can't make life painless, but we can attend to our own pain with kindness. This can mitigate some of the suffering.

“We should not be afraid of suffering. We should be afraid of only one thing, and that is not knowing how to deal with our suffering. Handling our suffering is an art. If we know how to suffer, we suffer much less, and we’re no longer afraid of being overwhelmed by the suffering inside. The energy of mindfulness helps us recognize, acknowledge, and embrace the presence of the suffering, which can already bring some calm and relief.”
-Thich Nhat Hanh (The Art of Living)

"Adult friendships require grace. People are busy. People are healing. People are growing. Don't mistake less communication for less love. Check in, not out." (Unknown)

In the journey of life, there are some simply kindred spirits who walk beside us as we grow. We may call them heart-chosen family, for these are the connections rooted not in blood, but in the sacred choice to remain present in each other's journeys.

But we must remember that these sacred bond that should be tended with a deep and quiet grace, as every soul we love is carrying their own invisible weight, navigating seasons of healing and the demanding labor of growth.

When the air between us grows quiet, it is rarely a sign of fading affection, but rather a reflection of the busy and often heavy paths we must walk alone.

True connection thrives when we choose to believe in the enduring strength of the heart’s bond, even when words are few.
By choosing to check in with a spirit of patience rather than checking out in a moment of doubt, we create a sanctuary where love can remain steady and true, unburdened by the pressures of the world. ✨

Look for the Helpers" - Mr Rogers. In these trying times, it's easy to feel helpless, stuck in our anger and despair. By studying and practicing the Four Immeasurables, we've been helping each other learn how to stay present and steady, with an open (ish) heart, and look for what we CAN do, and be inspired by those who are helping. Thus - these Buddhist monks on the Walk For Peace. May we all stay strong, and not be afraid to celebrate this beautiful earth and her people. https://mailchi.mp/arrive-here.com/liminal-space-14187350

As the week comes to a close, the invitation is simple:
release what no longer needs to be carried.

The Earth teaches us that completion is as sacred as beginning.
Leaves fall.
Day turns into night.
Breath is released before it is taken again.

This weekend, allow yourself to rest without justification.
Reflect without judgment.
Reconnect without agenda.

Rest is not disengagement —
it is how we return to our center.
