We took full advantage of the wonderful snowfall here in Ashburn by hosting a festive “Snow Day” for our residents!

The day was filled with interactive stations. From sipping delicious hot cocoa and shopping at our Winter Market to creating personalized snow globes and showing off creative skills with snow sculptures. The fun didn’t stop there. We were also joined by a very special guest, Toby the golden doodle, who was especially hopeful he could take a few cookies home with him!

I think it’s safe to say—this snow day was a total success! ❄️☕️

Dollywood continued at Waltonwood Ashburn with more fun filled programs. We hosted Dolly inspired crafting, had a visit from Baby Dolly, baked Dolly’s recipe for lemon coconut cookies and a visit from Sassy the Pony. We wrapped up Dollywood with a birthday party happy hour with a visit from our very own Dolly!

It was a fabulous week of Dolly programming, making memorable moments with residents, family, and staff.

Yee haw! Everyone had a darn tootin’ good time at the Rhinestones and Revelry Parton-ty in honor of Dolly Parton’s upcoming 80th birthday. Residents enjoyed Dolly’s sweet and savory mini biscuits while sipping an Islands in the Stream cocktail. During the shindig, Dolly made a surprise appearance & even sang some of her hit songs. After schmoozing with Dolly, the residents enjoyed a Smoky Mountain Feast of some more of Dolly’s favorites like chicken and dumplings, Mac n’ ribs and peach cobbler.

Residents got in the Dolly spirit with adaptive country line dancing. Everyone had a blast, a western shindig to remember!

On this episode of Waltonwood to Dollywood, we engaged in creating a Dolly collage and threw a themed paint party! Residents had the opportunity to express their creativity by designing their own collage of all things Dolly and their own western cowboy boot. I would say these turned out ace-high! 🤠

We kicked off Waltonwood to Dollywood week with a family night paint party. Guided by our fabulous art teacher Juliet, residents and families painted a scenic Tennessee landscape, inspired by Dolly’s hometown. We dawned our cowboy hats, learned our wild west names, and wrestled up some fun!

Residents and staff showed off their holiday spirit during our Holiday Fashion Show! Families helped cheer everyone on as they walked, strolled, and rolled down the runway. It was fun showing off the fabulous holiday outfits and decor!

Santa Claus visited with residents, staff and family members on Christmas Eve! Our resident choir, The Songsters, filled our hallways with holiday music and festive cheer. Dinner was served celebrating a bounty of seasonal favorites and shared in the company of loved ones. Tis the season to be merry.

The Waltonwood Ashburn Holiday Staff Party kicked off with an associate appreciation gift give away. The staff informed us of their favorite holiday song and picked up a surprise gift. The festivities continued with a holiday dinner where staff were served by managers. A fun holiday themed music trivia game was followed by our annual holiday party raffle. Congratulations to Janet Holmes, our 2025 Waltonwood Ashburn Employee of the Year. It was a fantastic day celebrating the season along with the employees who bring the magic every day and make Waltonwood Ashburn a great place to both work and live.

Residents dressed up in formal attire for our first ever Winter Gala. During the event, attendees listened to background music while socializing with each other. They enjoyed champagne, sparkling apple cider and delicious shrimp cocktail.

Students from PSY Alpha Honor Society joined Ashburn residents to participate in Holiday Cards for the Military Challenge.

Coming together to get to know one another while making holiday cards to let our military men and women know we appreciate their service and are grateful for all they do!

We were thrilled to celebrate our annual Holiday Open House with friends and family! The community felt warm, cozy, and truly ready for the holiday season. 🎄✨

Our Chef and his incredible culinary team prepared a festive holiday menu that no one could resist. Guests left with warm hearts, full bellies, and a delicious chocolate Bundt cake to enjoy at home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—we loved celebrating with you and hope to see you again next year!
