Had to remind myself not to say “y’all” on live TV… but we made it 😌

A few of my favorite moments from my Midday Maryland segment with

(Stay for the last one… that was my favorite.)

We talked dairy, yes—but more importantly:
✔️ how to build meals that support energy, strength, and recovery
✔️ how to make nutrition feel doable (not overwhelming)
✔️ how to turn information into something you’ll actually use

Information is everywhere…
but application is what changes lives.

Grateful to bring this message to a bigger platform—especially during Black Maternal Health Week.

🎥 More to come.

It’s 4/20, so let’s talk about…..Plant Medicine, and quality of life… honestly.

Not from extremes.
Not from judgment.
From real life.

Because for some, it looks like relaxation, better sleep, or appetite support.

For others, it becomes the thing that quietly disrupts rest, hunger cues, or emotional processing.

And yes—there are also medicinal uses, from managing chronic pain to supporting nausea in certain conditions.

So the question isn’t: “Is it good or bad?”

It’s: What role is it playing in your life?

As a dietitian, I care about what your habits are doing to your energy, your rest, your consistency… your outcomes.

Remember: Quality of life is the KPI.

Not perfection.
Not restriction.
Alignment.

No judgment. Just awareness.

Be honest with yourself:

Is it enhancing your life… or helping you escape it?

“Quality of Life is a clinical outcome.”
And baby… we stood on that.

This past week I had the honor of speaking at the DC Metro Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Annual Conference on my signature talk:

“Eat Well. Feel Whole”.

And let me tell you — the room was with me.

But what makes this moment even more real?

It didn’t start on a stage.

It started that morning — being a mom, handling life, moving through a full plate… and still showing up to lead.

Because that’s the reality for so many women.
And that’s exactly why this work matters.

We talked about:
- what women are actually carrying
- why weight-centered care isn’t enough
- and how energy, sleep, stress, digestion, and confidence are not “soft” — they are clinical indicators

And afterward?

Conversations.

Handshakes.

“I needed this.”

“I’m going to do things differently.”

That’s the work.

Not just telling women what to eat —

but helping them build a life that actually supports their health.

Still floating from this one.

Y’all… I did a TV segment this week 😊

I was a little nervous at first, but by the end of the week I really started to settle in and enjoy it.

It’s wild seeing something you’ve been working on quietly start to show up like this.

Just grateful for the opportunity and excited for what’s ahead ❤️

Sponsored by: American Diary Association North East. Danielle Smiley, RDN, LDN, CD-N shows us how beneficial dairy can be for moms-to-be.

Let’s talk about it.

You don’t need to force desire
when your body is depleted.

Low energy → low capacity
Low capacity → low connection

And yet… we skip right over that part.

Better intimacy often starts with:
• nourishment
• rest
• regulation
• feeling safe in your body

This is quality of life.

And yes… it’s all connected.

There’s a lot of fear in the air right now.

Insurance premiums. Coverage. Access.

People are nervous about their health—and what happens when support feels out of reach.

I won’t pretend I’m immune.

Birthing something new always comes with nerves.

But here’s what I know:
When systems shift, new pathways are built.
What’s needed doesn’t disappear—it evolves.

Support may not look like one-on-one anymore.

It may look like community.

Education.

Guidance you can carry with you.

If you’re paying attention, this season isn’t asking you to quit caring about your health.

It’s asking you to stay curious about what’s next.

Fear contracts.

Possibility builds.

I’m choosing to build—because too many people need it.

At the end of the year, I concentrate on buttoning up my books and client reviews as we prepare for the next year.

Wins are celebrated and we strategize to establish goals for the next year.

My clients watch for my own consistency and inspiration. They tell me so, and it pushes me to stay accountable to me.

With this is mind I love the end of the year wrap-up’s to see where I needed up.

First up is . My victory lap was pretty alright this year. I wanted to work on my cardiovascular health and improve my VO₂.

VO₂ max is how well your body uses oxygen to create energy. When it’s stronger, everyday life feels easier—walking, climbing stairs, playing, working, and living with more ease and confidence as you age.

It can impact surgical procedures as well. Plastic and Cosmetic surgery results don’t just depend on the procedure—they depend on how well your body uses oxygen to heal. A stronger VO₂ max supports better circulation, faster recovery, and the stamina your body needs to repair itself.

I think I did alright!
