After 27 incredible years, it's time to say a bittersweet goodbye to someone who has left footprints all across Randolph Health.

Rhonda Kearns, in the Quality department, retired this week, and if you've ever had the privilege of working alongside her, you already know: there is no one quite like Rhonda. Her team spirit is contagious, her pride in her work is second to none, and her dedication to this organization has been felt by every person who crossed her path.

We couldn't let her go without sending her off in true Rhonda fashion, complete with a Bigfoot-themed retirement party, because if anyone deserves a legendary send-off, it's her. Some say Bigfoot is elusive and hard to find but everyone at Randolph Health knows exactly where to find a great team member. We've been lucky to call her ours.

Rhonda, your legacy isn't just in the work you did, it's in the people you inspired, the culture you helped build, and the standard you set for what it means to truly care about your team and your community. You will be deeply, genuinely missed.

Here's to your next adventure. We hope it's full of rest, joy, and maybe a Bigfoot sighting or two.

Barbara is a patient sitter in Nursing Support at Randolph Health. We are honored to recognize Barbara for embodying compassionate care in everything that she does.

A nominator shared a powerful story that truly reflects Barbara’s character. Recently, a patient was in the hospital alone. Understanding no one would be at the patient’s side, Barbara immediately stepped in. She sat with the patient, held the patient’s hand, spoke gently to the patient, and sang to the patient, offering comfort, peace, and dignity.

Her presence was described as heartfelt, with genuine companionship and compassion.

She deserves not just a pat on the back or thank you. She really deserves a DAISY Award.”

Amber had two nominations! Her second nominator said, "Amber is very caring and attentive. You can tell that she really cares about her patients and that her heart is in what she does! She thinks of everything without having to ask and made sure our family was also comfortable. You always see a smile on her face and it’s comforting. She deserves all the awards!"

Today, our Randolph Health team proudly wore red for National Wear Red Day in support of women’s cardiovascular health and to raise awareness about heart disease, the leading cause of death for women.

Staff came together in red to spark important conversations and show our commitment to women’s heart health.
