An ER doctor once asked me what made Edna’s Place better than other facilities. His tone was condescending.
I answered simply, “We’re family here.”
He rolled his eyes, and I decided I wasn’t going to waste my time continuing the conversation.
That moment has replayed in my mind over the past few months—especially as my words have been proven through actions.
A son whose mom lives with us catered our entire Thanksgiving meal, just to give our staff a break from their everyday responsibilities. Another family is doing the same for Christmas. Today, three daughters of one of our residents showed up with photo props and did a full photo shoot—just to create memories together.
And under our trees? They’re overflowing with gifts brought in by families for every single employee.
All of this has only confirmed what I knew that day.
My answer was right.
We are the BEST—because we are FAMILY. 💕🫶🤟🏻
