Be extremely careful where you purchase your Hemp/CBD products from, especially if you’re at pop up and artisan markets. I’m seeing and hearing regularly that vendors will either try to toss in illegal h**p products with their wares or they simply fool an organizer and get accepted as a non legal company from licenses to improper labeling. Organizers want CBD at markets, but they simply don’t know what to require or ask to screen the h**p business. It’s not the organizers fault, though. They don’t know. This is really tough for businesses like mine that have invested significant time and money in everything from lab results to how much we have to pay Square to be in their CBD payment processing program because PayPal and Venmo, among most other processors, forbid cannabis industry transactions. Most banks do also. Form of payment is a very clear indicator actually that a company isn’t operating legally, so don’t be afraid to ask about their h**p source, if they have lab results (COA’s) on the products, and who they use as a bank and payment processor. If they can answer this, you’re likely good to go. If they get offended, you’ll know why. If you’re an event organizer, this is incredibly important for you to know and ask as well, particularly if you are hosting at a place that is serving alcohol or producing it. If law enforcement or ALE happened to swing by and ask that vendor questions they can’t answer or for paper work they cannot immediately produce, they could potentially be arrested, and it could cost the establishment to lose their state alcohol licenses/permitting overnight. It’s a big deal because it WILL happen at some point. My COA’s come everywhere my products do; the event in NYC requested them, my bank has them, and Square has them. My customers can always request to see them also. Not all h**p and/or h**p companies are created equally or have your best interests at heart, so please know this info for yourself.
Also, I keep getting asked about Delta 8. Do you know what it is? It’s THC and it’s 1 isomer away from Delta 9 THC or good ole ma*****na. There is a reason even legal states like Colorado are banning it. That said, it is a minor Cannabinoid and it’s found in such low quantities of the plant unlike major Cannabinoids like THC and CBD. Most of these products being sold/consumed are edibles and these edibles contain delta 8 isolate in the form of powder from untrusted sources overseas. Another big consumer health risk. Be careful. Consumer knowledge is power and I’m always here to answer cannabis related questions.
