It’s International Living Wage Week, and we’re proud to be part of Just Economics, a local organization that works to educate, advocate, and organize for a just and sustainable local economy that works for ALL in Western North Carolina.
From November 10–16, Just Economics joins global living wage organizations in recognizing and supporting the businesses and nonprofits that ensure their employees earn enough to meet their basic needs and thrive in our community.
💬 Why it matters:
A living wage isn’t just about fair pay, it’s about dignity, stability, and sustainability. When workers earn a living wage:
* Families are stronger and more secure.
* Local economies grow and become more resilient.
* Communities thrive with greater equity and opportunity.
🏞️ About Asheville:
We’re grateful to call Asheville home, a beautiful town built on community, connection, and care. It’s a place where people come together to lift one another up, to share in wellness, and to create a culture of compassion and balance. Supporting living wages helps sustain that spirit and ensures that everyone who contributes to our vibrant community can continue to live and work here with dignity.
💛 A note of gratitude:
To everyone who practices, donates, and supports Asheville Community Yoga, thank you! Your generosity not only allows us to continue our mission of making yoga available and accessible to all, but also supports our small and mighty staff in earning a living wage. You are helping create a more just, compassionate, and sustainable community; one practice, one breath, one connection at a time.
