💙 March is National Social Work Month, and we are proud to celebrate the incredible social workers on our Higgins Wellness team!

Social workers play a vital role in supporting individuals, families, and communities through some of life’s most challenging moments. Their compassion, advocacy, and dedication help create spaces where healing and growth can happen.

We are grateful for Sandy Sawyer and Colette Heiser, whose care, empathy, and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients they support every day. Your work matters more than words can say.

Please join us in celebrating and thanking the social workers who help make our community stronger. 💙

✨ We appreciate you, Sandy and Colette!

Valentine’s Day can hold many different emotions.

For some, it brings connection and celebration.
For others, it brings grief, pressure, loneliness, or reminders of what feels missing.

There isn’t one “right” way to feel today.

If this day feels complicated, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to push those feelings away or pretend everything is fine.

However today feels, you’re allowed support.

Black history is not just history.
It’s lived experience. It’s resilience under systems that were never neutral. It’s grief, brilliance, creativity, resistance, and care passed down through bodies and communities.

Mental health does not exist outside of history.Racism, oppression, and chronic stress shape nervous systems, access to care, and how safety is felt in the body.

This month and every month, we honor Black lives by listening, learning, advocating, and doing the work to create spaces that are safer, more just, and more human.

When life feels unpredictable, control doesn’t come from forcing outcomes.
It comes from what is within reach: your nervous system, your boundaries, and your inner dialogue.

Small, supportive shifts matter more than big pushes. Regulation creates clarity. Safety creates change.

What’s one thing you’re choosing to take control of today? Drop it in the comments. 👇🏼

The world feels heavy right now, and your nervous system is not built for nonstop crisis.

In our latest Higgins Wellness blog, written by Colette Heiser, they talk about what chronic stress does to your brain, why doomscrolling makes everything feel worse, and how rest, joy, and connection can become powerful acts of resistance.

You deserve regulation, not just survival.

Anxiety isn’t just feeling “stressed.”

It can show up as racing thoughts, a tight chest, restlessness, or a constant sense that something’s off.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and support can help your body and mind find calm again. 💙
